I realize that the world is not filled with people who celebrate the same religious holidays; however, as much as i wish it weren't the case, Christmas has become more than a religious holiday (i.e. Santa Claus). Christmas is also a universal time of good cheer, a time to love one and all, and it is in that spirit I wish all of you a merry Christmas...I am saying this because I was very recently criticized for bestowing glad tidings on someone with no religious affiliation. I realize it's more politically correct to offer up a happy holidays, including the New Year, so that no one is offended...However, much ado is made about separating church and state, so as far as I'm concerned, political correctness has no place in a "religious" holiday greeting! *wink* *grin* and whatever else is necessary to indicate I mean this in a very lighthearted way....
So..if I've offended anyone by expressing good wishes for a holiday which means very much to me, spiritually and secularly...I'm sorry, no offense is intended!
NOW that that's out of the way, lol...I want to offer up the most sincere thanks to all my friends and acquaintances for all the wonderful comments on my photos, especially the most recent...
I have to have minor surgery tomorrow..i should actually be sleeping now, at 1:40 am, but what with Christmas nearly upon us, and my daughters returning home before the week is out, and given as how I can't always get here as it is...I just felt I should express my sincere thanks and gratitude for all the support many of you have given me. I've fallen in love with flickr...or rather my fellow flickrites...so...thank you so very much...and, until we meet again...HAVE A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!! for those of you freezing in the snow, I promise the next time I'm here, some sunny beach photos =^)

Christmas tree at Malahide Castle.
Inspired by Mandy Willard I decided to find a Christmas tree in a Big House.
Admission to Malahide Castle is by way of guided tour only so while the tour was interesting, it wasn't ideal for taking photos.
The Christmas tree, which is on the nearby pier (see adjacent photo), is placed and lighted annually by the Morro Bay Fisherman's Association. Its reflection overlaps a lighted tree inside The Great American Fish Company restaurant. The last of sunset light caught the windows as well. A small view of Morro Rock in the smaller window at far right is part of a painting inside the restaurant.

Before retiring in 2018, I worked for a local pet care franchise: dog walking occupied the majority of my working day. This Christmas tree bauble was given to me as a present by one of our former clients sometime after their beautiful Golden Retriever passed away. I have made a few subtle alterations to the original portrait using Photoshop.
RIP sweet Monty ~ much-loved and sorely missed!
