In winter the Channel Gardens fountains are turned off and the Center is decorated for the Christmas holidays. The decorations varied for many years until 1954, when Clarebout introduced twelve wire-sculpture angels which, a few years later, became permanent fixtures at Christmastime. Each figure holds six-foot-long brass trumpets angled toward the world-famous Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center. Both the figures and sparkling wire snowflakes glitter from thousands of tiny lights.
I miss my quiet mornings by the Christmas tree with the lights twinkling, my coffee and the feeling of Christmas magic. The gratitude, the cheer, the anticipation, the family time. Can't we do it every month just without all the presents??

I have been absent from flickr for awhile... since September. I have had my daughter and granddaughter here from Kodiak, Alaska and have spent every moment, not spent at work, playing with Lucy. They go back home on January 10th, that will be a sad day for me, and until then these will be the only photos I will post. I miss the flickr community and all your lovely pictures. Happy Holidays to all and many good wishes for the new year!
