This winter, Christian Boltanski is creating a new composition for the Oude Kerk. He is using the entire church and deploying several monumental installations on the theme of what will come after our life has come to an end (NA).
In the nave of the church lay coats worn by numerous inhabitants of the Amsterdam Red Light neighourhood.

For obvious reasons, this church is my favorite building in OKC, and I'm happy to say that a nomination to the National Register is in the works for this fantastic piece of googie architecture. If it is added (and I'm sure it will be), this will be the second building designed by my grandfather to be included on the register (the first is the Y Chapel of Song on the UCO campus in Edmond, OK).
My friend, David Wanzer, and I were asked to host a mid-century architectural tour of OKC for the National Trust for Historic Preservation's national Main Streets conference here last week. Of course, we happily obliged and were delighted to show guests from all over the country some of our great architecture. Here are the buildings that we included on the tour:
St. Luke's Methodist Church (tour inside)
State Capital Bank (tour outside only)
First Christian Church (tour outside because the conference opening ceremony was held here)
The Gold Dome (tour inside)
Citizens Tower (tour inside)
Pollock House (tour outside)
St. Patrick's Church (tour inside)
Hans Christian Andersen ( 2 April 1805 – 4 August 1875), in Denmark usually called H.C. Andersen, was a Danish author. Although a prolific writer of plays, travelogues, novels, and poems, he is best remembered for his fairy tales. Andersen's popularity is not limited to children; his stories express themes that transcend age and nationality.

i recently stumbled upon an artist who i find incredibly inspiring. this is my interpretation of this amazing piece of art that he created. if you haven't looked at everything that Christian Schloe has ever done - then your eyes have not yet lived.
When visiting my hometown I kind of rediscovered the charm of my little compact Sony. I'm still having a lot of fun fooling around with high/low key, shake and blur etc.

Apparently these are very expensive shoes . They are Christian Louboutin. The couple wanted a couple of shoe shoots. I have to say I did not understand until I went home and Googled them. THEY ARE OVER $700! So now I understand.
In South India at last, I had time to sum up, to weigh my travels in my heart — and not in the balance of time and space. At the hour of my death what would the meaning of these travels be? They were important to me in so far as they had changed me, brought me nearer to my real centre. Slowly they had led me to what matters most. Only the inward journey is real. I found myself. Which is the same as to say that I found the way to become freed from my preposterous ego. Now I know that there is a way to the unchangeable Centre — that Core which is the same in all of us. And because of It, I can try with sincerity to love my neighbour as much as myself. Feeling no longer divided but concentrated, I can march with patience towards that oneness which we all feel, is the ultimate as well as the first word of life.
Deep gratefulness. I come back to you, perfect pond of my youth, deep blue line of the far horizon. You sent me away to the seas, and to beyond the seas in search of your promise. I have done it. I regret nothing. I feel all is granted. I have no more wish. I am free from myself, don’t belong to myself any more. What then is my harvest? Nothing. That necessary oneness is a total Mystery. But I learnt the way to it, [and] I kneel before it.
