This is one of the 4 chipmunks that I feed in my hand this year she is so cute have a lovely weekend! :)
The weather is turning cooler, definitely seeing a lot of chipmunks out and about preparing for winter rest.
Chipmunk Another mouth to feed I was surprised to see him on the deck eating bird seed he showed up a few days ago and has been coming at least once a day to stuff his cheeks full and taking off to store it in his burrow
This morning we were delightedly surprised to see our resident chipmunk nibbling away at something small, while perched atop our garden fountain, but not until he had sat there, very still, long enough for me to run for my camera and return to the scene!
So what he had found to eat was a mystery, after which he dropped back to the ground and skittered away!
I couldn't resist this cute little chipmunk scurrying around gathering the sunflower seeds. Luckily he stopped long enough to eat one too! One of those rare occasions I could actually snap a shot! St Elmo, Colorado.
I made it through the hurricane just fine, it was a long and violent one, until you are in it, you don't realize how relentless they are and this one was so big and long, it was over me for 24 hours.. Needless to say I don't care to do that one over! I want to thank you all for your prayers and concern.
Have a wonderful week ahead!

I spent a couple of hours stalking this little guy, in the garden of our holiday rental, last week. After a couple of frustratingly fleeting glimpses, he finally came out of hiding & remained still for long enough for me to steal a couple of shots.
Cape Cod - Aug 2017.
I very rarely shoot at ISOs this high, but it was dark and raining (or pouring, depending on the moment). I'm impressed with what I got here. He was a nice little model.
This was an almost full frame shot, slightly cropped. Noise reduction and resizing to 1600 wide makes the noise pretty much disappear.
A chipmunk is among the first to arrive after I put out some feed. I sit in my chair on the patio and watch their antics.
My favorite little rodent! This one came to visit two days in a row, sitting on the wall for photo opportunities and then scampering off, one time to the right and under a ground hugging evergreen and the next to the left and under the deck. I hope he returns!
