100x outside adventures
After a spectacularly rubbish start to the year (the death of my wonderful father-in-law), I've managed to post my first outside adventure which (predictably) was a long walk on a bitterly cold and biting January day.

Back to the time when the Beast from the East hit, and this poor old Starling had to suffer.
Chiller est un anglicisme essentiellement utilisé au Québec et signifiant "prendre du bon temps, ne rien faire et se détendre".
Ben Chiller is a recycle sculpture Thomas and his team made for the music festival Northside in Aarhus in the summer of 2015. Ben chills to the music, blowing his hair back, and puts out his 11 meter long legs for people to chill on.
Ben was build with the help of a small group of volunteers, and made solely from scrapwood donated by local industries.
I was only going to take a couple of days off Flickr, as I was out both days, with little time at home.
Then, an unprecedented heatwave struck. I've never experienced anything like it. Our thermometer in the back yard recorded 41C (106F) in the shade on Monday. As we were unprepared for it, when it hit, all the stores sold out their AC units immediately. Our place was sooo hot, but stepping outside, was like going into a sauna, and I could only do it for a few minutes at a time. Over 100 people have died in the past few days from the heat, something that is just so sad. The air outside is filled with smog and small particles of ozone. I was constantly spraying myself with water and sitting in front of a fan, that actually just blew warm air around. I couldn't sit in my computer room for more than a few minutes.
Today it looks like it's breaking - I feel cooler air coming in the window this morning.
We ordered an AC unit, but won't get it for a couple of weeks.
Scientists say that this will become the norm as climate change continues. Pretty scary....

Cute dog at Marine Drive. My friend Anu recognized this little angel and says his name is Jogi. He's 14 years old.
You know it's been a great party when at least one person ends up passed out on the floor of someone else's hotel room. Can't wait for the next Chiller Theatre!
