I had just run across the street to Starbucks and was on my way back home when i saw Anne coming down my block. The shot I took from afar almost didn't happen since at first she attempted to get out of my way — not realizing that she was indeed what I was trying to capture. But I could not resist the umbrella and scarf against the snowy background!
We were both enjoying being out early in the midst of DC's first real snowfall of the season. Unfortunately Anne did have to get to work today but she was in no rush, and was happy to stand for bit and chat. She admitted that it was her dogs that made her late in the first place. Seems like her canine companions were not too eager to go out in the snow this morning so it took a little extra coaxing.
Thanks, Anne!

The ¡Three Amigos! in Lego Minifigure form.
From the left:
- Lucky Day (Steve Martin)
- Dusty Bottoms (Chevy Chase)
- Ned Nederlander (Martin Short)
The minifigures are primarily the Mariachi from Series 16 of the Lego Collectable Minifigures, with the following changes:
- I took their hats off, and attached them to a neck bracket.
- I removed their mustaches.
- I gave each minifigure a different head/face.
- I gave each minifigure a different hair style/piece.
- I made Dusty's legs longer, and Ned's legs shorter.
- I gave each of them a revolver.
I also had a custom printed Minifigure plate made that says '¡Three Amigos!'.
This photo is made to somewhat resemble one of the ¡Three Amigos! movie posters, as can be see on the Wikipedia page: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Amigos

Chevy Chase on the red carpet at the 62nd Annual Academy Awards, 3/26/90
I don't think I've heard anybody EVER say anything positive about Chevy Chase.
I've never officially met him but I've been around him many times over the years to see how he treats people. (That's why I never wanted to meet him.)
Small anecdote: On Friday night September 17, 1993 I was having dinner with friends at the original Spago in Hollywood when Chevy Chase came in asking for a table. Chase was dressed in a jogging suit and was all sweaty, like he had been jogging by and decided to "stop in" on a sold out weekend night where everyone else was dressed up. They gave him a tiny table in Siberia by the restroom door. He complained loudly (DYKWIA - "don't you know who I am?) but they wouldn't move him to a better table. Haha. This was during the very brief period (three weeks) his talk show was on the air. To name-drop further, the next day I was at the Emmy Awards rehearsal and told this story to Jay Leno, who chuckled. It's some comfort to know Chevy gets what he deserves, at least sometimes.

No guidelines were supplied when I was comissioned to decorate this lobby for Monty Hoffman's Chase Point Condominium complex in upscale Northwest Washington, DC. ...I was given a set of plans and was escorted through a constrcution zone to view the very unfinished site. I ruined a $500.00 pair of shoes, thanks to Avi Fisher...who laughed when I was informed that I had to wear a hard had...a hard hat on a day when I was Prada from head to toe...anyway, he couldn't remember how to enter the site...so we walked through an entire acre of mud and dust before he discovered that the entrance was where we had originally started....My inspiration for the lobby design came to me, after our appointment, as I walked across the street to Neiman Marcus to buy a new pair of shoes....I turned around and noticed that the buildings style was based on the Art Deco style from the late 1930's. In an instant, I knew that I could make it fabulous....My lobby design features a wall of real Onyx, lighted from behind...and the glass behind the furniture arrangement is actually a waterfall...it's exquisite.
It's going to be Bloomingdale's instead, due to the merger of Hecht's and Bloomingdale's parent companies.

The entrance to Santa Anita Park in the city of Arcadia was dressed up a bit with the help of some movie magic, I assume matte paintings (?), which changed this parking lot into the entrance to Wally World for the 1983 comedy "Vacation".

Every now and then you have to show signs of greatness, which is what we did exactly with this quintessentially brilliant automobile as spectators bore witness to the royal asset that reigned supreme over an extended weekend. Accordingly, welcome to Goodwood lineage where $428,900 sanctifies you with British Supremacy in the most awe-inspiring fashions. The 2019 Rolls-Royce Ghost is practically perfect in all facets from the majestic performance of the 6.6-liter, 48-valve aluminum-alloy V12 which feels pure behind the wheel to the multi-link rear suspension featuring self-leveling air springs with anti-roll stabilization and electronic variable damping control. This bathroom is only 58" across at 14FT long with a large skylight. However, because it is so long, we were able to build a "no threshold" shower without door. The clients love it. I wish they would go with a wall hung toilet, but they decided not to.
Before the famous Peking Restaurant opened in 1947, the Ho Toy Chinese Restaurant occupied the same space inside the Chevy Chase Arcade at 5522 Connecticut Ave NW. The Ho Toy opened by 1932 and continued into the 1940s.
