We met, and became lasting friends, in September 1957, the first day of Junior High. Janet had just moved to the neighborhood, East Flatbush, Brooklyn. Janet was very smart and studious. We sat next to each other in Science and every time we had a test, I would say "I'm going to fail." Then she would ask, "Did you study?" and I'd say no.We had a big fight over that and didn't speak for a while. But, most of the time, we were best friends. We used to go to each other's house every day after school to do homework. Homework and trick calls. We made one from her house that must have been to a business because they answered something like "Bridges Bottom Yacht Club." For some reason, this really scared us......we thought we had reached a spy ring and that they would come after us, so we ran out of her house and ran away for a while. One time I slept over her house and she only had one pillow, so she took it and gave me her autograph dog to sleep on. I know these things don't sound funny to anyone but us, be we laughed all the time....except for the times we were crying over boys. We always would set our hair and walk around in rollers on Saturdays so people would think we had dates that night.
We got married a month apart and after that our lives changed. I stayed where I was and her husband was in the Air Force so she moved to Plattsburgh, NY. We used to visit a lot and always had lots of fun and laughs together. She kept moving.....to New Jersey, getting bigger and bigger houses. She had 2 girls. Now she has 4 grandchildren.........2 of each.
Well, she's living in South Carolina now and we hadn't kept in good touch. Excuse me..........I was the bad one. I never called. But we started e-mailing almost every day now. She came up to NJ to visit for a few days and today we spent together. It had been 3 years since we saw each other. We discovered it didn't matter at all. We picked up right where we left off, acted as silly as we did in school, laughed all day and had a great time. I love my friend Janet.

8.21.11 White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle: That's the ONE right there :D. Had lunch w/ Alex, Bethany, n' there moms. Was real cool bein part of that n' catching up on what's been goin on over the past 3 weeks.
I tell u, both those families are SO awesome makin me feel like i'm part of there extended family. Durin the course of this year's 365 i know I come off as a broken record player when I talk about how great Chinese is, but really though for the cool & spiritually encouraging times we have together, it is. In my serving Jehovah n' the important people & metaphoric moving parts that revolve around that n' help me put together perspective in doing the right thing., i consider them a part of that B-D.
Today saw my 2nd youngest daughter Sarah exit her teen years and turn 20, so today was for her. We had a lazy start, took her shopping, and then for dinner we went out to The Cheesecake Factory where we stuffed ourselves silly!

Tiffany was on duty at the Cheesecake Factory in West Des Moines, Iowa.
She was a great server and made a wonderful suggestion on what dessert to try.
