Hello There!
There is nothing like an orange tulip to bring about a sense of warmth and cheerfulness. I like the idea of warmth because it's cooled down with a bit of snow and below freezing temps. Spring hasn't fully arrived yet in Manitoba. Wishing each of you a warm and wonderful day! WWW!
Thanks a million for stopping by and for leaving a comment. I do love hearing from you!

Hi there,
It's pouring cats and dogs right now and it's only supposed to get worse over the weekend. I thought that a bright flower might be in order!

It's freezing cold in my neck of the woods (an understatement) plus it's Wannabe Warmer Wednesday so I decided to post a cheerful summer bloom for you. I hope that this day finds you warm and happy. WWW!

Brightly colored Echinacea grace a late summer garden. Also known as coneflowers, these flowers not only bring beautify but also medicinal benefits.
Osteospermum is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the Calenduleae, one of the smaller tribes of the sunflower/daisy family Asteraceae. They are known as the daisybushes or African daisies.
The daisy-like composite flower consists of disc florets and ray florets, growing singly at the end of branches or sometimes in inflorescences of terminal corymbose cymes. The disc florets are pseudo-bisexual and come in several colors such as blue, yellow and purple. The hardy types usually show a dark blue center in the disc until the yellow pollen is shed. The ray florets are female and are found diverse colors such as white, cream, pink, purple, mauve to yellow. Some cultivars have "spooned" petals such as "Pink Whirls"

These bright and cheerful flowers were a present from my sister - chosen by her 2 1/2 year old granddaughter :)
Many thanks for all the lovely comments and faves on my images :)))
It's difficult to hibernate if the human keeps telling you that she wants to take a photo and your younger brother has a preference for noisy toys. :)
8.1.2020, Saint Andrews Bay, South Georgia.
I took this picture on our last trip to the Falklands, South Georgia and Antarctica on the MS Fram expedition trip, just before the Corona epidemic eruption (thank God we made it at the last moment...).
I especially like this picture since it shows so much the dynamics and energy of wildlife in one of the most sensational beaches of South Georgia.
Look at the details: almost every group of the different species is active doing something, mainly enjoying a nice day in the water...
