So I switched to Walgreens for C-41 developing a couple of rolls back because the HEB machine seems to scratch my negs too often. This time I was dropping off a roll, but the regular girl wasn't in. The blonde didn't know how to put the order in to only develop & scan (no prints), so she called over the brunette, who called the manager, and the three of them spent the next 10 minutes dinking with the order system.
As soon as I took this, Ms. Brunette got all in a snit. "Why did you take my picture? I have a right not to have my picture taken!" Well, no, hon--actually you don't; Walgreens can ask that I not photograph on the premesis--Mr. Manager didn't say a word--but you have no other say in what I take or what I can do with it. But I apologized, explained that I took the photo because I liked the tableau here, and said I'd stop because she asked.
The only reaction from the others was Ms. Blonde glanced at her and rolled her eyes. I gather she doesn't like her much. :)
Before I left Ms. Brunette asked me if I could delete the photo, and I told her no, it was on film. Not that I would have even if I could.

The restaurant was full of ABCs looking for decent pizza, and hip chicks stopping in for a bite before heading out to the many lounge bars nearby.
In the days of impersonal mega-store shopping experiences we have now, it is so refreshing to go to a place and know the names of the people you always see there and get to talk to. I found such a place in Dayton. I frequent a Chinese market near Wright Patterson Air Force Base and am getting to know one of the families that works there more and more. Really nice people. Michele is always behind the counter and while I was there the other day, I had my camera. She asked me if I would take a picture of her children and I did so and a few other shots just for fun. Will post more when I get the time in the next day or so.
