With so many Bed, Bath & Beyond stores closing, I decided to go to my local location in Murrieta just to take some pictures of it, it's not closing but you never know...

 

Customer service and registers area of the store, unfortunately they're all self checkouts...

This came out a lot better than I expected. One advantage to shooting in Walmart is that during the day they don't use the overhead fluorescents; they only light with the skylights. So this is a straight scan, no post-processing except for a dynamic range compression and a crop.

These young men were ready to take over the Chehalis library's self-checkout station, if Mom needed help. April 2013.

This is one of the first illustrations I produced when I was Uni. It is an updated version of an older illustration I did years ago. The key feature to this piece is the products going through the checkout. All of which are genuine brands with early 1990s packaging.

Nursing a cold and feeling lousy but needed to go to store to get food so took the opportunity to do the challenge. Like to not show people's faces in candid shots so work around it if I can.

This little dude is our little mascot as he is a constant reminder to have divers do a "Buddy Check" prior to each and every dive.

I shot this image whilst waiting to checkout of a rather pleasant hotel in central Brugge, Belgium.

I shot this from the hip and hence had to do some cropping and straightening in photoshop.

It was a long exposure using my favourite 50mm prime lens. The light very contrasty and I tried to expose to avoid burning out. The problem was drawing detail out of the shadows which created a fair amount of noise. I used Topaz De Noise to control this problem.
