I have really been failing at keeping up with my 365 lately. Yesterday was not such a good day at all, and taking a photo just completely slipped my mind. So I took two today to make up for it. I was driving my friend Whitney home from work and drove past this abandoned...something. It looked like something to do with the railroad next to it but I really have no clue.

The fisheries patrol plane (based in Invernes) does a low pass over Cromarty Harbour, checking out the local trawlers I suspect.
Four raccoons crossed the path in front of us, checking out the new path. The old abandoned railway bed has just recently been graded, and stone dust laid, in a rush to spend the government stimulus fund dollars before spring deadlines. On the plus side, this will be a wonderful walking and cycling path. On the minus side, they dug up all the stone just put in last year (paid for by another stimulus fund project), and it is no longer quite as pretty a country path it once was. Over the summer a lot of the "naturalness" filled back in after the first grading, so we are all hoping that next year the same thing will happen, and this will look a little less like a road again.
If, as I suspect, these are filters, dated to show the last time they were changed, then this train may have been out of service for about five years.

Yes it's still February!
I spotted this Red Admiral while walking in Deerpark, on the northern tip of the Quantocks. I also saw, but failed to shoot, a peacock butterfly, a wasp and some bumblebees. It's starting to feel a bit like Spring!
