Going through the model contest room at a national convention is always inspiring. The models that are shown are always the most intricate that are seen anywhere.
This scene is from a diorama of a large city passenger train station and a few neighboring tracks.
Most (actually all) rental vehicles in Spain are poorly maintained regardless of the supplier. The vehicles are generally less than 3 years old, otherwise they are disposed of. This means they do nothing to them - even the cleaning is minimal.
This reflects the Spanish general attitude to vehicles - they are a tool, a domestic appliance. Even the newest of vehicles will be scratched, scraped and dented. Its probably quite a healthy attitude versus our "touch my car and I'll you know what for mate" mentality.
Much to my surprise all the pressures were about correct... once I'd found the sticker that showed the pressures (passenger door pillar).
Unlike almost all of the UK, the air is free at this service station.
My camera club (www.flickr.com/groups/1809756@N21/) participated in a Build a Better Block Party for New Kensington last weekend and these two little friends were among the first people I ran into when I arrived. The face painter forgot her mirror, so she was using her iPhone to show the little "cat" what she looked like - but her friend had to be in the picture, too - even though there was no picture being taken. Wonder what new techno-adventures will be in store for their generation!
