Quality Line route S3: Belmont Station - Malden Manor Station

Departed North Cheam / Sainsbury's (L), towards North Cheam Sports Club (HJ)

Quality Line retained route S3 from Epsom (EB) on 8 April 2017. New E20D MMCs of the short variant, SDE20276-20278, were introduced a few days after. I am under the impression these are the last buses to come with the Epsom Coaches Group saloon before RATP took ownership of Quality Line last summer.

Alexander Dennis can take credit for another quality product as, like the type's predecessor, the Enviro200 MMC becomes a dominant force in the single-decker market. It was also refreshing to return to North Cheam and the more interactive atmosphere of Quality Line service.

A close up of the peak of Mount Cheam

Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada

Every time I see this mountain, I am amazed. Whether its during the summer or winter, the views take my breath away.

On this third visit to Cheam Lake Wetlands I again saw the River Otters. I believe there were two. It was close to shore and I was hoping it would leave the water but it dove and perhaps it has a den under one of the islands in the lake.

On the way down as the sun was getting lower in the sky. Because of forest fires in the area, the sky was a bit hazy.

We hiked up Mt. Cheam and just over the green hill in the valley below is the city of Chilliwack

One of the most spectacular views in the Fraser Valley, Mount Cheam offers a 360-degree panoramic view from Chilliwack and the communities along the Fraser River, Jones Lake, the surrounding peaks, and Mount Baker to the south.

Cheam is the farthest northerly peak of a small group of peaks forming a local subrange, the Cheam Range, a small group of peaks forming a local subrange of the Skagit Range of the Canadian Cascades mountains (which are the Canadian extension of the North Cascades of Washington).

It dominates the eastern Fraser Valley, rising above Bridal Falls and Agassiz just east of Chilliwack, British Columbia.

It and three sister peaks form a group known as the Four Sisters or Four Brothers, which are part of the mountain wall framing the Lower Mainland; though visible from as far away as Vancouver Island on a clear day, like Cheam does for the Eastern Valley, they are a dominant part of the mountain skyline of Mission and the communities of Hatzic, Dewdney and Deroche.

Behind them is Wahleach Lake, which begins at the east foot of Cheam and lies in a high-altitude valley ringed by the Cheam Range.

CN 5296 West rolls through Cheam View in the eastern end of the Fraser River Valley on a gloriously sunny winter day. I was most likely returning from a trip photographing the British Columbia Railway and headed home to the greater Seattle area when I stumbled upon this scene providing great weather and nice light, so pulling over and taking a photo was not hard to resist. This photo was taken years before the Co-Production agreement between CN Railway and CPRail where trackage would be shared on each other's parallel routes between the greater metropolitan Vancouver area and Kamloops, BC. Photo taken on. January 2, 1985

After 4 days of snow and NE winds causing almost blizzard conditions, we finally got a sunny day with nice blue sky - although the wind was still blowing the snow into higher drifts.
