Abdul Al Sifat used to work at a scrap metal shop as a shop manager. Although he wasn't a student, he expressed solidarity with the students and participated in the July uprising. During a clash between the protesters and the police at Pahartali police station in Chittagong, a bullet fired by the police hit the fuel tank of a motorcycle at the scene, causing it to explode immediately. Sifat suffered 35% burns in the explosion.
After the burn injuries, he was taken to Chittagong Medical College for treatment. However, he claims that he did not receive timely treatment there, which led to his burn injuries becoming more complicated.
Due to the burn injuries, he can no longer return to his job. Moreover, due to lack of funds, his treatment is also not progressing properly.
