We were crossing the Channel, getting OFF the Island, for work(?) and play... seeing family and friends, my beloved Flanders... and new places... what could be better?

The Channel has traffic on both the UK-Europe and North Sea-Atlantic routes, and is the world's busiest seaway, with over 500 ships per day.

Between Ostend in Belgium and Dover, there used to be a regular service, alas no more...

Waves are incredibly powerful yet at the same time mysterious, it is sometimes hard to tell what they will do next. This photograph from cornwall looks down onto waves battering the hard craggy rocks from all directions, creating a band of pastel blues clashing with the soft whites.

Multiple channels dissect this region on the margin of Terra Sabaea. Most Channels on Mars are thought to have formed by flow of liquid water, whether the water came from eruptions of groundwater, melting glaciers, or rainfall. Often the water will take advantage of joints in rocks, or faults that have fractured rocks over larger areas. Erosion by a flowing fluid such as water (or in some cases, lava) is thought to have produced the sinuous channels seen across Mars.

In the case of the channels in this image, notice the linear features on the channel floor. This texture is suggestive of the flow of ice, or glaciers. Slow-moving glaciers “bulldoze” rocks producing linear features called moraines, which are embedded in the glacial ice. When the ice is removed, the moraines are left behind. NASA and ESAʼs Mars Orbiter in the 2000s began to reveal the widespread presence of these glacially derived features on Martian channel floors, which has helped scientists to recognize that global climate change has affected mars over geologic time.

Visiting Sydney Australia atm is this Channel billed cuckoo.

I take what pics I can of it before it returns home to Papua or Indonesia.

Waiting in line before I got asked to skip the queue.

There was a kerfuffle of birds in the front yard, so I grabbed my camera - just got one shot as he flew off with magpies following.
