Back in August, the Discover Channel Headquarters where I work dressed their building like a big shark. Here's the view from the Metro Rail platform.
It was sort of inflated by fabric tubes and air, and they deflated and tied it down during storms. It was up for a month for "Shark Week" promo on the Discover Channel.
Best view was a homeless man I have dubbed "Gandalf" (because that's what he looks like; some homeless guy dressed like he's Gandalf, with robe, staff, and pointy hat) started ranting and shouting at it. He was saying something about it being demonic while he shook his staff.

The Swinomish Channel ( as well as Deception Pass ) separates Fidalgo Island from the rest of the country.

Called the Palisades by locals - because of the columnar basalt formations, I suppose - This is actually part of Moses Coulee which some geologists believe, was actually created by floods in another ice age before the last one, about 25,000 to 30,000 years ago.

Gastineau Channel separates Juneau on the mainland side from the city of Douglas (now part of Juneau), on Douglas Island. The first European to sight the channel was Joseph Whidbey early in August 1794, first from the south and later from the west. It was probably named for John Gastineau, an English Civil Engineer and Surveyor.
In 2004 we worked on a documentary for the Discovery Channel about the war in the Netherlands.
The documentary is called "Europe's Secret Armies - Resisting Hitler - The Secret Armies Of The Low Countries".
You can still buy the dvd over the internet.
For this documentary we supplied actors who portrayed Dutch and German soldiers, Allied airmen and Dutch civilians.

This is my all time favorite desktop transistor radio. It dates from about 1960 and is big to appeal to customers who were used to buying bulky tube sets. It has outstanding mid century curves and lines with an attractive reverse pained plastic "screen." It works great, getting better reception than most of my other transistor radios.
A 743 foot channel traverses the height of the steel structure of One Liberty Plaza, New York, NY.
The building was originally commissioned and occupied by US Steel.
