Took this photo outside the Channel 4 building in London. Channel 4 are well known for trying new innovative displays of their 4 logo.

This one is made entirely from umbrellas! Typical for a British summer!

Snapped this with my iPhone. Am now using the Darkroom app to take photos and the Mill Colour app to enhance the pictures - think its returning slightly better photos now!

This is taken from the jetty at Lake Road Swansea on beautiful Lake Macquarie. The moorings are known locally as Pensioners Channel given most of the vessels here are as old as their owners. Its a nice quiet spot only a couple of blocks from where we live.

In the late 50's and early 60's Channel Master radios were made by Sanyo (Japan). This radio was made in Taiwan, I'm guessing early or mid 70's. Unsure of the manufacturer.

I'm a fan of many of the transistor radios from the 1970's. After some pretty dull, rectangular radios in the mid to late 60's colour and shape made a big comeback in the era of platform shoes, over-sized lapels and polyester leisure suits.

WFMZ-TV 69 in Allentown PA moved to a new broadcast channel this week as a result of the FCC UHF-TV band repack. They shut down their RF channel 46 signal and is now sharing RF channel 9 with three other stations. The RF channel 45 translator in Philly is still operating I'm told by the station, but that will also eventually be moved. The UHF band repack is condensing stations on that band into a smaller space, with the freed up portion being transferred to wireless mobile use. When completed 987 stations nationwide will have moved to new RF channels. WFMZ is one that elected to go to the VHF band.

Surprizingly, I'm able to receive this new VHF channel using the UHF antenna I've been using from when they were on 46, even being over 50 miles from the transmitter.

From a walk on a somewhat rainy day in the area known as Aarhus Ø in Aarhus, Denmark - June 16, 2018.

On the 31st March 2018 the 'Oldenburg' (1958, 294GRT) leaves Ilfracombe for Bideford.

The 'Oldenburg' is named after the former grand duchy of Oldenburg, Germany, and built in Bremen. She was delivered to Deutsche Bundesbahn Schiffsdienst Wangerooge for use on a ferry service between the mainland and the Frisian island of Wangerooge.

Between 1975 and 1985 she was used on various operations including duty free sailings from Germany.

In November 1985 she was sold to the Lundy Co. Ltd and has since provided a freight and passenger service to the island in the Bristol Channel.

We were in Hollywood yesterday, being tourists (we'd never taken the kids and they thought Hollywood was some far away exotic land), and an ABC camera man set the kids up with microphones for a picture. Thanks, anonymous camera guy! You made my kids happy.

Active Assignment Weekly: Aug.22 - 29 Long Exposure Photography

I have always been a big fan of Long Exposure Photography, so I thought this week, we could try that. As the name suggests, a long exposure photo is when the camera’s image sensor was exposed to light for a longer period of time than usual. I think for this assignment, anything over 1 second.

I am really looking forward to playing around with this myself and to see what everyone else comes up with.

Dare: try an exposure of 30 seconds or longer

Restriction: the exposure has to be at least 1 second.

WIT: We took a nice little romantic stroll down the channel where the Muskegon River dumps into Lake Michigan (but, of course, without the tripod). After several unsuccessful attempts (blurry), we found a place to set the cameras down for a little bit of stability. This is shot at F/13, 30 sec., ISO 80. CS4 adjustments to curves, increased vibrance, added a slight vignette, noise reduction, resize, sharpen, increase canvass size for the border.
