Another great turnout for this the 3rd Xborder Challenge run from Gretna to Carlisle, it got quite hot as we neared the finish but was still pleased with time sub 40 .

Dilworth's U9s won their one-day tourney Sunday. Won both games. In dramatic fashion in extra innings 17-16. Down 15-7, Dilworth fought back to take the Championship.

This new 2013 Challenger was brought in for some custom stripes, retro script embalms & custom painted brake calipers to match the stripes. The owner picked out Dodge Viper Snake Skin Green for the stripe color & brake calipers. This one is sure to grab a lot of attention.

I just wanted to create a fun edit for this little cutie. Did a levels adj. layer, flipped the photo and removed the unwanted elements. Added warmth, light and contrast. Applied a wood texture to the wood at the back and a pavement like texture to the concrete and a bokeh texture to the water at the back to bring out the different elements in the different parts of the photo. Added a couple of textures to the entire photo for effect and removed from his skin. Added a couple colour fill layers, text and frame and sharpened.

I am participating in the Strada Easel January Challenge. Quite a commitment - a painting a day for 31 days! It has to be a subject that you are looking at. Not from a photo. And it must be painted AND posted that day! Currently there are 876 participants from all over the world. But as the days go by, people drop out. Five lucky winners from the remaining participants will be chosen at the end of the challenge and will get to select a Strada Easel of their choice!
The rules: Do a painting or drawing from life each day (i.e. a work of art done while you are looking at the subject from life-not from a photo or imagination). These subjects may include still life, interiors, figure, and landscapes.
This vintage lobster pitcher from my grandfather's house was a good subject for Day #3. I created a sketch and then painted it with watercolors. Not my main medium so it was good practice.
My Mom liked to research these items and would often attach a note about what she learned. This pitcher is Royal Bayreuth, made in Bavaria and my Mom did write a note about it. She said a similar pitcher that is slightly bigger has a value of $650 - $700!
