Bless the lovely Peanut Butter trees for allowing me to hold stars in my hands, if only for a short while. "For my part I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream."

Singapore has a sensibly regulated free market economy, combined with political stability and certainty based on the rule of law. A laser sharp focus on quality education has produced an industrious and well educated work force. Singapore is probably the only country in that has graduated from being a Third World Country to a First World one within a single generation.
These attributes have attracted many international investors that have turned Singapore into a powerhouse for global business and finance.
Several leading multinational corporations have established their regional headquarters in Singapore, and announce their presence in the form of competing skyscrapers that rival any skyline found in the leading countries of the world.

Make a wish and place it in your heart. Anything you want. Everything you want.
Do you have it? Good. Now believe it can come true. You never know where the next miracle is going to come from, the next smile. The next wish come true.
But if you believe that it is right around the corner. And you open your heart and mind to the possibility of it. To the certainty of it.
You just might get the thing you're wishing for.
The world is full of magic. You just have to believe in it. So make your wish. Do you have it?
Good. Now believe in it. With all your heart.

🇬🇧 Although we have not yet reached Cape Town, we can see one of these special landforms. There are several in this part of the country, including:
Signal Hill // Banhoek // Tête de Lion mountain,
I think I remember (with no certainty 15 years later) that we are in the Cederberg mountain range.
Signal Hill // Banhoek // Lion Head Mountain,

What we see in the image is an adult female Orthetrum trinacria that has captured a female Diplacodes lefebvrii and is eating it.
Title? It is more of an assumption than a certainty. If we look closely, the attacked female is releasing eggs and it may be due to the contractions that her body suffers or to a survival tool of her eggs by expelling them before being consumed by the attacker.
It was a very curious scene that I saw with Teo.

The Fishermen's Bastion (Halászbástya) is a famous building in Budapest. It is located on the river side of Burchtheuvel, District I, and rose between 1895 and 1901
The structure offers a view of the Danube, the districts of Pest with the striking parliament building
There is no certainty about the correct origin of the name. Probably comes the name of the fishermen who lived downstairs in the Water City (Viziváros) and held their fish market here. It may also be that the name stems from the fact that this part of the castle wall was traditionally defended by the fishermen of Buda. It is not a fortress (bastion) but a terrace
Northshore Mining 652, 651, and 650 bring the afternoon empties under Railfan Rock near Beaver Bay, MN on June 16, 2002.
By the time I moved up north in 2001 and shot the NSM more frequently, this trio was usually in charge of the road ore trains although I got the older EMDs a few times. Eventually, NSM would get leaser 40s along with bigger road units, making 650-652 more likely to be found on the tailings trains instead of these ore runs they were purchased for.
Northshore Mining faces an uncertain future as they wind down operations for an upcoming May 1st shutdown. Owner Cliffs decided to idle NSM until at least the fall but it's far from a certainty that NSM will come back then. It's been reported for years that there will eventually be not enough blast furnace demand for all current six pellet plants in Minnesota. It looks like in this round that Minorca was the winner as Cliffs decided to keep them going through the summer instead of NSM.
The old track lies quiet now, its iron memory softened by moss and mist, carrying only footsteps where engines once roared. Between the two villages the path runs straight as an oath, laid down in an age of steam and certainty. Fog gathers where the rails once gleamed, as though the past still breathes beneath the soil. Trees stand like witnesses, remembering the smoke that once curled skyward in another time. Walkers tread where travellers once sped, moving through the layered hush of history. And in that quiet stretch of land, the old line dreams on, neither gone nor forgotten.
St. Rupert's Church (German: Ruprechtskirche) is a Romanesque church in Vienna, Austria. Traditionally considered to be the oldest church in the city, St. Rupert's Church is dedicated to Saint Rupert of Salzburg, patron saint of the salt merchants of Vienna. The church is located in one of the oldest parts of the city, the section of the Roman Vindobona.
There is currently some debate whether the Ruprechtskirche is truly the oldest church in Vienna. Discoveries of old foundations under the St. Peter's Church and old graves under the St. Stephen's Cathedral have disputed the certainty of this label.
The ivy-covered church has been rebuilt and altered many times in its history. In 1276, it was damaged by fire and modified. The choir dates from the 13th century, while the southern nave dates from the 15th century. In 1622, it was redecorated in Baroque style. It was also somewhat damaged by shellfire during World War II and affected by the demolition of the nearby ruins of another building. In the middle of the apse, there are two Romanesque stained-glass windows. (Wikipedia)
I was lucky to actually go inside. A Viennese lady who I met at the bus stop told me where it was and said I should definitely check it out. A service was going to start in a few minutes, so i wasn't sure I could take pictures. I asked the security guard, who went and asked the priest, and he said I could do it as long as I did it before the service actually started. That was nice of him!
The stained glass windows really stood out for me. For such an old church they are magnificent.

( Papa Francesco, Evangelii gaudium, 6 )
A glimmer of light
.....also in the midst of distress, that comes from the certainty of being infinitely loved...
My money is on Able ; still looking fresh & on the outside . They have already covered a great number of laps on this Carousel at the German Christmas market in Birmingham.
As I walk through the shadows, the doubts and feeling wash away, the certainty of what is to come rekindling the spark.
we know little, but that we must hold to what is difficult is a certainty that will not forsake us; it is good to be solitary, for solitude is difficult; that something is difficult must be a reason the more for us to do it.
to love is good, too: love being difficult. for one human being to love another: that is perhaps the most difficult of all our tasks, the ultimate, the last test and proof, the work for which all other work is but preparation.

A 'Stonewall' certainty? The wall, the tree and the sky all fighting for attention - Near Malham Cove, Yorkshire
i occupy my lonely post,
hover above the ebb and flow,
watchful eye, rarely sleeping,
casting light against the darkness,
face aglow;
wondrous, warm illumination
to penetrate the night,
cold, uncertain certainty,
tidal pull,
siren song,
lonely sound that lulls me
into everlasting endlessness,
the bells,
the hours,
the horns of boats,
the 'oe' echoes,
the ancient rhythms,
pluff mud empire,
gone to seed;
i wait here in this tiny space,
unprotected, face the cold,
touched by stellar movements, waning,
timeless intervention
held at bay for more than just a moment;
and now i feel the icy breath,
and now i understand the depths,
the chill of nothing left to tell,
the vastness of the sea's betrayal;
i loved the sea,
i love the sea,
i occupy my lonely post.

Melanostoma mellinum is a very common species of hoverfly found in many parts of Britain, Europe including the Mediterranean basin and North Africa, the East Palearctic, and North America.
A small species, their wingspan range recorded is between 4.7 and 7.0 mm. Very similar to Platycheirus and other Melanostoma species, but with close inspection of some finer details, it can be identified with certainty. Adult males closely resemble Platycheirus clypeatus, but lack the flattening or broadening of the front legs characteristic of most Platycheirus males. Females resemble female Melanostoma scalare, sharing similar triangular tergite markings, but have a shiny, black frons, which separates them from M. scalare and most Platycheirus species. Also, M. mellinum may prove to be a species complex.
Their preferred habitat include grasslands and moorlands, including those in hilly and mountainous regions. Adults can be found feeding on the pollen of grasses (Poaceae) and other wind-pollinated plants.
Little is known of their biology, but the larvae are suspected to be a general predator of small insects in leaf litter.

Lake Montriond is located in the Haute-Savoie in the French Chablais region. The lake is frequented by fishermen and especially by walkers and hikers.
The lake of Montriond was created by the collapse of a part of the mountain of Nantaux in the North West. This geological event, which is not dated with certainty (from 4500 years to 3 or 4 centuries!), caused a dam on the torrent which ran at the bottom of the valley, hence the
formation of the lake.

The moment when you first wake up in the morning is the most wonderful of the twenty-four hours. No matter how weary or dreary you may feel, you possess the certainty that, during the day that lies before you, absolutely anything may happen. And the fact that it practically always doesn't, matters not a jot. The possibility is always there.

Creation Myths
Some have the grandeur of architecture,
The grandeur of the concert hall: the sentimental
Grandeur of an idea lying just beyond recall
In someone's imagination, compelled by an even
Greater music at its most monumental,
That begins with the explosion of a drum
In chaos and the dark, the twin wellsprings of a world
That slowly comes to lie before them—a natural
One, apparently designed for them alone,
That somehow lifts them in the end, a woman and a man,
To Paradise and the certainty of God.
John Koethe
One of the surest axioms of science is that energy can never die, ever. Energy is known with scientific certainty to be deathless; it can neither be created nor destroyed. It merely changes form. Because absolutely everything has an energy-identity, nothing is exempt from this immortality.
Historic first nesting of Zitting Cisticola in Britain
Zitting Cisticola has bred in Britain for the first time, with a pair raising young in Suffolk this summer.
The long-anticipated milestone was documented this month at Walberswick NNR in Suffolk, where birders noted clear evidence of successful nesting. The breakthrough was first signalled on 3 August, when a singing male was discovered at the reserve, sparking speculation that a second bird – thought to be a female – might also be present.
That speculation turned to certainty on 22 August, when both adults were seen carrying food to at least three freshly fledged juveniles. A fourth chick was confirmed the following morning, leaving no doubt that the species has bred in Britain for the first time.

Early in 1914, moreover, we realized that it would be impossible to free the Saint Anna from the ice; at best, we would drift until the autumn of 1915, more than three years after we had departed Alexandrovsk.* If we stayed on board, starvation would become a real threat by January 1915, if not sooner. In the darkness of the long polar night, a struggle against hunger carries no hope of salvation. During this season, hunting is out of the question, as all animals are in hibernation. The only certainty for those trapped in its realm is that "white death" lies in wait for them.
excerpt from In the Land of White Death by John Krakauer
The funerary chapel contains prefigurations of the Virgin and Themes of Resurrection and Judgment. Like the narthexes, the program of the parekklesion is divided between the Virgin and Christ. Here, however, the overriding theme is Salvation, befitting a funeral chapel. The western domed bay is devoted to the Virgin; the upper walls represent Old Testament prefigurations of the Virgin, emphasizing her role in Salvation. The eastern bay is devoted to the Last Judgment. The complex program of the chapel culminates in the conch of the apse, where the Anastasis (Harrowing of Hell) is represented, flanked by scenes of resurrection. Unlike the narthexes and the naos, the parekkelsion is decorated with frescoes
CHORA MONASTERY
In the northwest part of the historical center of Constantinople and in a small distance from the Byzantine gate of Edirne, Chora Monastery is located. Its name comes from the use of the word “chora” (the lands/dwelling place) in the mosaic of Christ as “Chora of the Living” and in the mosaic of Panagia as “Chora of the Uncontainable” in the interior of the church.
From the old monastic complex, only the katholikon remains till today. Furthermore, we are not sure about its dedication to Christ or Panagia, or even to both of them.
Equally doubtful remains the foundation time of the monastery, since not only the years of Justinian I (527-565) have been suggested, but also the years of Heraclius (610-641). However, there is certainty that during the 12th century a grand church is being built, while in the beginning of the 14th century it is widely renovated. This was the extended renovation program, funded by the logothetes tou genikou, Theodore Metochites, who associated his name to the monument, thus sealing the greatest period in all of its history. The construction of the double narthex and the south chapel, which were decorated with mosaics and frescoes respectively, is attributed to Metochites. These works comprise the greatest expression of the Palaiologan art during the artistically rich reign of Andronicus II (1282-1328) and they are still admired by all.
On the day of the Fall of Constantinople in 1453, the monastery was one of the first religious monuments to undergo the plunder. Later, at the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th century, Chora was transformed into a mosque named Kariye.
The restoration of the monument, the reveal but also the cleaning of the mosaics was made in two periods, the first one in the beginning and the second in the mid-20th century.
The Chora Monastery operated as a museum (Kariye Müzesi) from 1945 to 2020, when it was converted back into a mosque by decision of the Turkish authorities.

Ophrys holosericea (Orchidaceae) 120 23
Ophrys holosericea (the late spider orchid) is a species of flowering plant in the family Orchidaceae, native to western and central Europe and the Mediterranean region.
This species can be extremely difficult to identify with certainty due to the large number of new and similar species that have been (and continue to be) recognised. The situation is often further complicated by hybridisation and introgression, which often creates populations that mimic pure unrelated species, often very convincingly.

Chora Monastery operates from 1948 as a museum named Kariye Muzesi.
Lac de Montriond (France - Haute-Savoie) was created when part of the Nantaux mountain to the northwest collapsed. This geological event, which has not been dated with any certainty (from 4500 years to 3 or 4 centuries!), caused a dam on the torrent that ran along the valley floor, hence the formation of the lake.
I sat in the garden reading a book. Blanca lay sprawled within the shade of my chair. After some time, a movement in the corner of my eye caught my attention. Something small was moving and sparkling in the sunlight. It turned out to be you.
My book became unimportant and instead I watched as you crafted a new web. What a privilege it was! You started from the outside and with a calm certainty like a blind-folded magician went along an ever-tightening spiral path that you yourself don’t even have the vantage point to see. The whole thing took about 10 minutes. All the while, a blustery wind was impatiently testing your handiwork, which was not found to be wanting, and just a few minutes later the first tiny gnat fell victim to your art.
I am always happy to share my home with eight-legged neighbors, indoors and out. You’re a role model for patience, precision and planning. And sometimes when dew drops and sun beams conspire together, there aren’t many things more beautiful than the poem that is circular of a spider that is solitary.
Be the silent spinner who waits.

A dolmen or dolmen is a burial chamber from the Neolithic period (4000-3000 BC) that consists of at least three but often (much) more standing supporting stones, covered by one (or more) capstone.
According to current theory, dolmens are the remains of prehistoric burial chambers. However, they cannot be regarded as graves in the ordinary sense, but rather as charnel houses. It cannot be said with certainty that grave signaling was the original function of all these structures. There are dolmens who are believed to have served only as shrines.
In the Netherlands we still find them mainly in Drenthe, mostly on the Hondsrug. They were built between 3350 and 3050 BC, in the westernmost spur of the funnel-beaker culture territory. A total of 52 dolmens have been preserved there in the Netherlands. Hundreds can still be found in Germany and Denmark, for example.
in black and white you suggest; in color you state. Much can be implied by suggestion, but statement demands certainty… absolute certainty.
