One of the most confsing parts of the tour. News 10 now followed us around for a bit and I heard someone mention that we were going to be on the news at 10:00 PM, but it never happened. I was a bit dissapointed.

I said that I would return to this cemetery when the snow had melted. Ironically on this day I explored most of the cemetery before sleet and flurries chased me back into my car. It did make for some great photos though with the contrast of fall colours and stormy skies.

This particular batch of photos may include repeats, taken by my Samsung S20 FE phone. It takes great pictures though I am disappointed by the frequent presence of a blue orb-like lens flare in many direct-at-sun photos. I've tried to remove them from this batch.

The Jewish cemetery in Bečov nad Teplou was established in the 17th century, first documented in written sources in 1662. During the Nazi era, it was destroyed and the tomb of the Upper Gänger Mill in nearby Vodná was paved . [1] After the Second World War, the mill disappeared. An archaeological survey was launched in 2010 and 156 tombstones and their fragments were collected from the court. After the restaurant, they were gradually installed in the place of the original cemetery at the Bečov railway station by the road to Nová Ves .

This is a little cemetery outside town not too far that is pretty neglected. The grass is always waist high and the markers are falling apart.

When I was growing up, we were always told it was the "Robber's Graveyard," but I'm guessing the small markers that aren't very well marked are really just a small family site whose ancestors aren't the current owners of the property.

**UPDATE: I guess both ideas were half right. My grandpa told me it's the Black family cemetery, as in the Black & Yeager Gang that terrorized Northwest Oklahoma.***

On our way back from skiing my mom and I decided to stop of in Genoa for drink at the oldest saloon in Nevada. After our beer we headed down to the Genoa Cemetery to smoke a joint before going back to my aunt and uncles house in Carson City.

Greenwood Cemetery open in 1869 after being converted from a farm, and covers 43 acres. It is on the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places. Benjamin Rush (a signer of the Declaration of Independence) lived on the farm in the late 1700s. Over the years, Greenwood's fortunes declined. The cemetery became a target for vandalism and many headstones were toppled and broken. Maintenance became sporadic and vegetation began to consume the cemetery. Only the front third of the cemetery is cleared enough to walk through unimpeded. The rear of the cemetery has reverted to forest with trees springing up through the middle of graves. It is not an unusual sight to see a headstone pinioned between two trees. The Knights of Pythias, upset over conditions at Greenwood, tried unsuccessfully to have their name removed from the cemetery. The court has appointed Gloria Boyd & Kevin Lynch custodians of the cemetery on a temporary basis. They are in charge of getting the grounds in repair and arranging burials. The decision on a permanent owner will be at a later date.

Hove Cemetery is one of Brighton and Hove's big 5, and my own local big cemetery, but is worth seeking out by any fan of cemeteries, or historical locations.

It's split in to two distinct sections, the south half having most of the historical statues and monuments, creating an amazing dense maze of historical features.
