The fog never lifted today. The most obvious trip with the camera was the one to the park, but then I remebered the cemetery. It was bitterly cold, and the place completely deserted but not quiet as water was dripping off the trees and making eerie noises. I grabbed a few shots and hurried back onto the road and to the comfort and warmth of my car.

I think this is the first Japanese Cemetery I have seen in Second Life. Located at Kakumachi maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Kakumachi/93/146/3004

Abney Park Cemetery, Stoke Newington, London. A lone figure catches up with some reading in the peaceful surroundings. When I think of 'Cemetery Gates' I recall the destination of Stan and Jack's bus in the 1970's sitcom, On The Buses.

It is striking to see all these gravestones against the vivid green of the weedy grasses.

Old cemetery outside of Eugene. Many of the people resting there started on the East Coast in the early 1800's.

Also, skeletons.

Abney Park Cemetery in Stoke Newington, shot with a manual focus Walimex 8mm f/3.5 fisheye lens.

This lens is intended for APS-C cameras, on which it produces a rectangular image with fisheye distortion; the effect can be relatively subtle if you keep the lens horizontal.

On a full-frame camera like the R6, it's necessary to remove the lens hood otherwise it's visible in the image. Unfortunately, even without the hood the lens won't produce a fully circular image on a full-frame camera as parts of the circle fall outside the top and bottom of the sensor. There's also a strong blue tinge round the edges of the circle, which of course was never intended to be in the frame.

This cemetery is on the site of the monastic settlement founded by St. Kevin in the 6th Century.

Another picture of the black f(r)iend I met on the cemetery. Better large.
