I spent almost the whole November in Antarctica on a mission to shoot the polar landscapes and give presentations to a group of photo hobbyists. This is not a ship dedicated to do photography, so I squeezed my time everywhere, on the deck, on zodiacs, and on kayaks, with my Pentax 645Z, my Nikon D800 and even with my ZTE cellphone. This picture was shot from a kayak trip with my ZTE cellphone, it may be not high-res, but it renders every details of the iceberg very well, another example of low end equipment with excellent result.

Those idle phone kiosks are probably like "Don't come running to us when you lose your cellphone"
In case you were wondering, that is the Empire State Building back there.

Used my cellphone (HTC 10), stitched using lightroom.
I brought my Passion Flower plant indoors... and she gifted me with this beautiful flower!!!
I've had this plant for at least 8 years!
eating lovage.... another black swallowtail host plant.
These days, lovage is less commonly used and, as with anchovies, celery and olives, its intense bitter savouriness doesnāt please some, my wife included. I love it, but a little care is sensible when using it.
Every part of the plant is edible, with the leaves and seeds the loveliest to use. Their flavour is somewhere between celery, yeast and intense vegetable stock; the seeds are a little sweeter than the leaves. I think of it mostly as vegetable stock in leaf and seed form and I use it most in the base of soup or stew, where its flavour is lent to the whole. That said, it should be let loose once in a while: a little chopped lovage on tomatoes is so good, as is a sprinkling of seeds on bread before baking, and try it in combination with cheese and apple, or mussels cooked in cider. Pick leaves and seeds as you like, prioritising the tender young leaves, which are best for eating raw. The hollow stems are like soft bamboo and make a fine flavoured straw for a Bloody Mary.
I have always granted myself the freedom to exercise artistic license and pursue whatever brings me joy. Currently, shots from my cellphone and digital AI artwork fulfill that purpose, at least for the time being.
If in doubt which is my work and which is Generative AI, just look for the watermark on my photography.

My son took this picture and sent it to me!
Both of my grandsons are into ice hockey and my son (their dad) is now a coach for three teams!! They are all so active in sports, wait until Charlotte goes to dancing school!!! Both parents work full time jobs and yet they do anything and everything for their children!!
Enjoy the day and new week!!
From Charlotte's birthday party.... the snow came down much sooner than expected... it was beautiful snow... heavy and wet... great for making snowmen... but not driving in it...
This morning I see we got around 5-6 inches.... that is clinging to everything!! Later on we'll venture out and tackle digging out...
