The ceiling at Leake Street doesn't get as much attention as the walls, for obvious reasons, but when it does the work is usually stunning. Forground is by Psychodoodlz, with the entrance to The Vaults at the bottom right. The portrait bottom left is the work of Olivier Roubieu.
Detail of the wooden beams in the roof of Salt Creek Covered Bridge a two lane bridge at Brown County State Park IN. Built in 1838. The advert on the beam is actually on the wrong side of the bridge to be seen by traffic entering the bridge, it would be above and behind traffic leaving the bridge.
The ceiling of the 203 foot long nave is covered with Victorian paintings as a kind of Jesse tree, tracing the ancestry of Christ. It was the work of two artists, Henry Styleman Le Strange, who painted the first six panels (counting from the west), and Thomas Gambier Parry, who painted the last six - you can observe a change of style between the sixth and seventh panels.
Quite a busy shot but I love the roof on show at Leadenhall Market. I must try to go back here and take another shot where I'm standing right underneath looking up.

This is a picture i finally got around to uploading of the ceiling in the chinese pavilion in epcot.
Taken with an Olympus E-P2 using a Panasonic 14mm lens, edited from RAW in LR5, and cleaned up a little noise-wise in Dfine.
The 14mm Panasonic lens is just wonderful. This was taken hand-held, and even in remarkably little light using ISO 1600 on the E-P2, good information was picked up in RAW. The larger image shows clear definition when cropped down even at this distance.
I'd've liked the windows at the back not to be haloing, but it was mid-day when this was taken, so light intrusion was to be expected when metering in such a dark building.

High Hill, Texas
This is another one of my favourite museums of London. It's incorporated the new architecture with the old in a wonderful way. This is also perfect for Grandchildren, those Mummies are a fascination. I like the Japanese Rooms particularly, beautiful carvings.
This is the ceiling of a church dedicated to the founder of the Jesuits, Ignatius Loyola. The painter was Andrea Pozzo in the late seventeenth century. Have a look at how he cleverly made the painting look three-dimensional when it is on a flat surface. As with many ecclesiastical buildings in Rome, the decoration is sumptuous and money was obviousy no object.

What a grotty day, rain over rain, no possibilities for a cool shot - so you get only this.
Captured with a M9 and a manual Summicron 50mm Æ’1:2 and a gray 2x ND filter.
Took a Preservation Wayne theater tour yesterday. Normally, I steer clear of any type of tour but I couldn't resist since it gave me a chance to get into eight theaters, including the former Michigan Theater that is now a parking garage. Although no tripods were allowed, I don't think I did too bad shooting hand held at ISO 800. The tour was supposed to last 4-4 1/2 hours but a whopping 5-5 1/2 hours later my tour companions and I limped to the Town Pump for some nibbles and libations. It was nice to see the lovely parts of the city :)
