El Cruce de los Lagos Andinos es un viaje que se realiza saliendo desde Puerto Varas a Bariloche cruzando cuatro lagos de la patagonia Chilena y Argentina (Llanquihue, Todos Los Santos y Lago Frias, Nahuel Huapi en Argentina). El recorrido se hace combinando buses y catamaranes a ambos lados de la Cordillera de Los Andes pasando por Peulla. El recorrido permite ver paisajes de increible belleza escenica de gran fama internacional que lo hace muy solicitado por turistas extranjeros que visitan la region.
Peulla (en mapudungun Brotes de Primavera) es un pequeño puerto lacustre en la orilla más occidental del lago Todos los Santos en la comuna de Puerto Varas, con 120 habitantes. Este puerto se encuentra muy cerca de la frontera con Argentina, está a 26 Km del paso internacional Pérez Rosales y el paso Vuriloche. Aqui se puede realizar diferentes excursiones para conocer las bellezas de la zona y se ubican los hoteles Natura y Peulla este último con casi 100 años de antiguedad.

The Andean Lake Crossing is a journey departing from Puerto Varas to Bariloche crossing four lakes of Chilean Patagonia and Argentina (Llanquihue and Todos Los Santos, Frias and Nahuel Huapi lakes in Argentina). The tour is made by combining buses and catamarans on both sides of the Andes through Peulla. The travel permit to see awesome scenic beauty landscapes cause its international reputation makes it very requested by foreign tourists visiting the region.
Peulla (in mapudungun Spring Buds) is a small lake port on the western shore of Lake Todos los Santos in the Puerto Varas county, with 120 inhabitants. This port is located very close to the Argentinian border just 26 km from the international pass Perez Rosales and Vuriloche step. Here you can take tours to see the beauty of the area and the Natura and Peulla hotels the latest almost 100 years old.

After reading about it, I harvested a few of the remaining "native" seeds from the milkweeds in one of the parks and now have them stored damp in my refrigerator. Will try to grow them this year.

Seokchon Lake Park.
Il lago Seokchon era originariamente una parte del fiume Han.
C'era un'isola chiamata Burido nel mezzo del fiume Han che lo divideva in due, il fiume Songpa (la parte settentrionale) e il fiume Sincheon (la parte meridionale).
Nell'aprile del 1971, iniziò un progetto di costruzione per collegare Burido con la terraferma.
Proseguì allargando il fiume Songpa e chiudendo il fiume Sincheon.
A causa di questa costruzione, la parte meridionale chiusa del fiume Han divenne il lago Seokchon e il terreno creato dal progetto di bonifica divenne Jamsil-dong e Sincheon-dong.
Negli anni '70, dopo la costruzione, il lago Seokchon e l'area circostante erano sgradevoli alla vista.
Fu creato un sentiero pedonale e piantati alberi, trasformando l'area in un parco.
In seguito, il lago Seokchon divenne inquinato causando un cattivo odore.
La gente evitava il parco del lago Seokchon per questo motivo.

Seokchon Lake Park.
Seokchon Lake was originally a part of the Han River.
There was an island called Burido in the middle of the Han River that divided it into two, the Songpa River (the northern part) and the Sincheon River (the southern part).
In April 1971, a construction project began to connect Burido with the mainland.
It went on to widen the Songpa River and close off the Sincheon River.
Because of this construction, the closed off southern part of the Han River became Seokchon Lake, and the land created by the reclamation project became Jamsil-dong and Sincheon-dong.
In the 1970s, after construction, Seokchon Lake and the surrounding area were unsightly.
A walking path was created and trees were planted, turning the area into a park.
Later, Seokchon Lake became polluted, causing a bad smell.
People avoided Seokchon Lake Park because of this.
In 2001, Songpagu designated it as a tourist attraction and initiated a maintenance project to clean the water and allow the ecological system to recover.

... perform at "Music for a Cause" at the Pembroke Waterfront Amphitheatre on 2024 July 27. Music for a Cause" is a benefit concert in support of the Robbie Dean Counselling Centre.
We MAY have been able to get up next to the wind turbines via the ATV trails because of that lovely little beast over there in the bottom right. Tyler's Rangerover "ange" got us up the hill with VERY little trouble. We parked here and walked the rest of the way up to the turbines. they AMAZE me.
Later on instead of turning around we drove up closer to the turbines. climbed some steep inclines and went down some more steep ones. there's video of the whole thing somewhere. i'll post the link later.
so i figured i'd make a mock landrover ad out of this shot cause i respect that truck like something feirce! came up with the slogan cause the ride was pretty boucey and shakey, but the truck was un stirred. ;) also it works because the thing is notoriously british.
