This swallowtail kept staying so high up that I couldn't get a good shot; finally he came down lower for a drink.

These little bullets sure know how to move and you can hardly see them they move so fast. Thank goodness for fast cameras and continuous shooting which makes this all possible. They are really beautiful to see in flight !!
Good night and have a blessed one too.

Between tempest wind and stable stone

“November comes and November goes,
With the last red berries and the first white snows.
With night coming early, and dawn coming late,
And ice in the bucket and frost by the gate.
The fires burn and the kettles sing,
And earth sinks to rest until next spring.”
― Clyde Watson
Sparrow enjoying the blackberries in next door but one`s garden. Taken from my garden with difficulty & a huge zoom!
I hung up another bird feeder over the weekend, and this sneaky squirrel thought a short-cut over the garage roof was the best way to access it. He didn't notice me until it was too late and froze for just a second, and that's when I took the shot. I thought he was just too cute not to post. :)
I hope you catch a lot of trick or treaters!! Happy Halloween everyone!! Be safe!

in the depths of madrid’s metro, time bends. the train rushes past, a blur of blue and white, but she remains still, suspended in her own moment. the motion frames her, yet she is untouched by its chaos. her warm-toned jacket stands in soft contrast to the cold metal and streaking lights, a quiet resistance against the rush.
the image feels like a story half-told—a fleeting second where movement and stillness collide. in her gaze, there’s a question, a pause, or maybe just a quiet thought. in a city that never stops, she is the still point in the storm.
Today, give a stranger one of your smiles. It might be the only sunshine he sees all day.

This mallard wasn't too sure about being caught with his feathers not quite perfect!
by a camera ! I'm quite sure that Sethi would have taken a different way home if he had known that a camera was nearby.:)
Sorry for being behind with commenting, I had (and still have) a computer problem. At the moment I do my work from different computers in the family. I also have an old notebook from a friend but it's almost impossible to process photos on it as the display is too dark and the colour quality too low. No idea if I have overdone the brightness, contrast and colours here.
It is early spring here in South–Africa, and breading time for most bird species.
To my surprise this Blackeyed Bulbul was ripping off small pieces washing-line, to line their nest.
Hope you will enjoy this photo.
This is a piece of reed that has blown onto this barbed wire fence, becoming caught. It's interesting to me because the last time I was here I saw fur/hair caught on a similar piece of barbed wire. It was winter time and I thought that the fur belonged to a coyote that had just walked across the frozen lake and didn't quite duck enough to clear the barb. I wondered if it felt the sharpness of the barb.
