- Japan trip -
on my flight from Frankfurt to Madrid I get a very delicious hot meal in Business class (even a choice between two hot courses!). Lufthansa also serves a hot meal in Economy class.
On a comparable flight (length and farewise) with Iberia from Amsterdam to Madrid you need to buy your food and drink in Economy class and they only provide cold catering.

Business class catering for AMS-ZRH.
The quality and amount of food was good, absolutely appropriate for the short duration of the flight. The only thing I dislike is that LX uses (high quality) plastic cutlery on these short haul C class trays - that's somehow making it look "cheap".
