I,
Aku,
the shape shifting master of darkness,
unleashed an unspeakable evil!
But a foolish samurai warrior
wielding a magic sword
stepped forth to oppose me.
Before the final blow was struck,
I tore open a portal in time
and flung him into the future
where my evil is law.
Now the fool seeks to return to the past
and undo the future that is Aku!

As defenders of the Candy Kingdom these enormous machines are distinct for their glass dome heads, ice cream cone hats, and being tall enough to easily step over the walls within the Candy Castle. Joined by police chief of the Banana Guards, Captain Root Beer Guy, these stalwart servants are the primary protectors of the Candy Kingdom. All three have the sole purpose of defeating the Candy Kingdom’s enemies, and protecting its citizens and sovereignty. All three would sacrifice their lives to this important cause if destined to, and have done so before.
WHAT TIME IS IT?
Time to tour the land of Ooo through the builds of the Adventure Time Collab:
H.E.L.P.eR. stands for Helpful Electronic Lab Partner Robot (with the extra 'e' for aesthetic purposes). He was created by Jonas Venture to serve as a nanny for his son Rusty, and now serves as nanny to Hank and Dean and frequently helps the Venture family, as well as bodyguard Brock Sampson, in their adventures.
HELPeR from the Venture Bros! Got the itch to build a bot that wasn't done in Lego before, so HELPeR was the one. A serious lack of teal curbed my efforts to make him truly close to the show, but he's close enough that he's recognizable.
Eyes and mouth are trimmed stickers.
Not many of you guys may know this, but I've been an extremely adamant fan of Adventure Time since season one so many years ago! So to hear Lego was finally entering the Land of Ooo, I was so freaking excited!
Now most of my admiration really goes to Pendleton Ward and his team of writers and artists. The mere fact that Adventure Time really has no filter on where it's stories can go, while always making the content work within an established storyline is incredible! Like it uses throw-away lines and scenes to constantly hint at incredibly large, emotionally deep elements of story, while never quite having an episode dedicated to exposition of the world Finn and Jake live in. I mean like over the course of like four or five years we only get pieces of that, like an episode of Marceline and Ice King's past, which 90% of the episode is wrapped around their band practice, but simultaneously touching on the topic of Alzheimer's Disease and a Nuclear Apocalypse.... In a kids show! I could go on for hours on how many tough topics this show tackles but I won't for the sake of time, but damn, it handles it's content so well!
But this isn't the only episode like this! Funny enough, having a final message or moral isn't always the show's standard. Some episodes never have dialog, some never feature main characters at all, some episodes don't even use the same art style! And that blows me away, that a show can be so diverse and yet still work within the confines of this fantastic world building that Pendalton has done. It's a great way to tell stories because not a single episode is the same. Yet the team at Frederator Studios always manage to tie everything together. They practically re-invented what a kids show could be! That really hasn't been done since BTAS.
But on top of it being so diverse, the humor and fun surrounding the show is wonderful! Adventure Time brings so much joy and positive emotions that not a lot of shows do for me. It makes me feel like a kid, and the Adventure Time universe is just like the weird shit I thought of when I was little :P
It's cool to see this show explode to the popularity that it is today, but it still holds a personal connection to me, and I'll always hold these stories close to my heart.
Here's to these last few years of Adventure Time! I know I'm gonna miss this show when it's gone!

today I tried something new :)
I made fondant! Marshmallow Fondant!!! And then I decorated these lovely cupcakes with it! If you aren't familiar, they are characters from the TV show: Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.
Bloo! and Wilt! :)
I tried to make Eduardo too, but purple frosting is hard to make without actual purple food coloring...so i made the skull on his belt instead. I was going to make Mac too, but I ran out of time and had to rush them off to the birthday boy, my friend- Kendric :)
I was inspired by hello naomi. Thanks!!! :)

The loveable BMO (Beemo) living video game console character from Adventure Time made out of lego. This is a fully functional portable Raspberry Pi Linux computer. This means it can do pretty much anything you can think of. Plays video, plays games, surfs the web, and more! Of course it cannot make toast, or skateboard like the real BMO...
Here is a short video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFhiCLS5fhg
Here are some details on the internal components:
* Raspberry Pi (Model B)
* 4Gb SD card with Raspbian Linux OS
* 2.5 " TFT display: www.adafruit.com/products/912
* Low-profile microSD card adapter:http://www.adafruit.com/products/966
* Micro-USB cable for power
* Mediasonic USB Battery Pack: www.mediasonic.ca/product.php?id=1359582548 (This sits outside of the BMO)
* A female USB connector and some wires (For the USB port on the front of the BMO). Check out this tutoral for more info on that: www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=32336
This will be on display at Brickcon this coming weekend (Oct 5-6).
