I haven't posted any street shots this, week -- perhaps because I haven't taken any. Processed from the archive... I'm gonna need to go for a good loooong walk this weekend.
The hardly 'quiet ' approach of a Class 70 at Dorridge fails to even get a glance maybe the waiting passengers were used to it.

"These mountains that you are carrying,
you were only supposed to climb." —Najwa Zebian
Ever since I came across this quote I've been determined to do something with mountains and well I just did a quick edit on my phone with an app and well this came out.
Photographic musings from my trimp to a railroad siding for the unloading of grain carrying cars.
This is a self-imposed candid photographic tour. I'm striving for simplicity, texture and strong horizontal and vertical lines.
So much of my candid shooting is of people, and that is my comfort zone. I figured I needed to move out of my comfort zone and develop an eye for other compositions.
It's also kind of fun, because I am older and with cameras around my neck, I'm rarely challenged to asked to leave. At most we have a chat about what I am doing, and then I go about my business.
I'm discovering more benefits to getting older than I could ever have imagined. 😎
Don't worry, everyone will be loving Corona again when the summer returns.

Last month we spent a weekend on the playa of the Black Rock Desert in Nevada to attend Mudrock, a three day rocket launch event organized by AeroPac. My son carries his 9 feet tall high power rocket after its successful maiden flight.
Update: Here is a video compilation of this launch.

A steam locomotive is a locomotive powered by steam. The term usually refers to its use on railways, but can also refer to a "road locomotive" such as a traction engine or steamroller.
Beginning in Britain, steam locomotives dominated railway usage from the start of the 19th century, until the middle of the 20th Century. They were gradually improved and developed in their over 150 years of development and use. Starting in about 1930 other types of engines were developed and steam locomotives were gradually superseded by diesel and electric locomotives.

It looks quiet. A large drama. We watch from our canoe. And are silent. Even as we paddle home, we are still silent. We carry it with us.
