I love carousels, but I have always thought there is something a bit disturbing about the horses' faces, they look a bit maniacal!
"In my mind, only one inviolable precept exists in terms of being a successful writer: you have to write. The unspoken sub-laws of that one precept are: to write, you must start writing and then finish writing. And then, most likely, start writing all over again because this writing "thing" is one long and endless ride on a really weird (but pretty awesome) carousel. Cue the calliope music."

The Mid Lent Fair is here!
Brings back childhood memories... though only the Galloping Horses and the Helter Sheller still look as I remember them.
Carousel is a little video story of unrequited love. After much heartbreak the character goes on with her life in search of a new place to call home where she is able to express herself without judgment. And what looks like a "freak show " to the outside world, she has found her tribe. a place to call home. Enjoy the video (Click the link to watch) youtu.be/_hM7q_wvVS0

This photo resumes well why I shoot RAW and HDR.
RAW, because many cameras (especially Canon) would struggle with White Balance in this situation. Out of the camera, the photo had a pretty strong orange cast on it, the carousel had almost not colors. Of course, the blue sky is a bit weird but I preferred it this way.
I could set up my WB properly when taking the shot but that would be so much time consuming, so RAW is my way.
HDR because there is not way I would have got all the details in the carousel being dark at night and lit be strong lamps in comparaison. Also, the moon would have been much brighter and over exposed.
!!! Happy Wednesday !!!

A trip to Oxford in April 2023 and some decent weather at long last! Carousel buses provided the camera with some much needed sunny shots.

Fleet nos 513 and 514 were the first to be treated to the new Country scheme, replacing Chiltern Hundreds for all the interurban routes operated by Carousel. The intention here is to mirror the green scheme used on the Flightline 102 buses, but in two-tone red to match Carousel's colours.
This scheme will soon spread to more buses in the fleet.
Jane's Carousel was made in 1922 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company, then installed in a park in Ohio. In 1984 it was purchased in poor condition by Jane and David Walentas, then meticulously restored. It opened in Brooklyn in 2011, sheltered inside a glass case.
(This photo was taken through the glass at night in two layers, blended, then HDR processed.)
