Multiple cardinals came into the yard for the seed I put out.
No warblers today.
Cardinalis cardinalis.
The Northern Cardinal's bright red plumage reminded early European settlers of the cardinals of the Roman Catholic Church, high-ranking bishops who wear red robes and caps. Both this bird's common name and its scientific moniker Cardinalis cardinalis refer to these church officials. A group of Northern Cardinals is called a "college," "conclave," or "Vatican."
Premier coup d'oeil déstabilisant mais il s'agit d'un jeune et le bec va se reformer...
Le bec de l'oiseau est semblable aux ongles, il repousse et il s'use.
Rendu adulte, il sera tout beau ! : ))
The red-headed cardinal beetle is a medium-sized beetle found in woodland, along hedgerows, and in parks and gardens. The adults are present during the summer and can often be found sunbathing on flowers or tree trunks. They are predators and feed on other insects flying around the flowers on which they are perched. The larvae are flattened in appearance, which enables them to live under loose bark where they feed on the larvae of other insects.

The winter flocks of cardinals are dispersing as spring approaches. Although these birds are common in their range, they always turn heads. Our beautiful world, pass it on.
The male and female Northern Cardinal are a nice splash of colour in the bare trees.

One of the most popular birds, the cardinal is the official state bird of no fewer than seven eastern states. Abundant in the Southeast, it has been extending its range northward for decades, and it now brightens winter days with its color and whistled song as far north as Southeastern Canada.

I am testing the new 200-500mm Nikon lens. A beautiful Red Cardinal came to pose. I wanted to see the clarity on this lens and it is great.

I took the screen off the lower half of one of the kitchen windows so I could get a little different view of the bird feeder. This guy came buy to get some snacks and I got several pictures of him. This particular image has bokeh of the Carolina Jasmine that I shot through.
He's a little rough looking so I looked it up and he is going through his yearly molt so it will be a while before he looks handsome again. It happens every year in Aug and Sept.
