This female cardinal was captured in mid-flight with the motion stopping capability of electronic flash illumination. Two SB-800 flash units were set to 1/32 power to create an approximate flash duration of 1/18000th of a second. The image of the bird is combined with a separate background picture in Photoshop.

The Legend of a Cardinal

A Cardinal is representative of a loved one who has passed. When you see one, it means they are visiting you. They usually show up when you most need them. They also make an appearance during time of celebration, as well as despair, to let you know they will always be with you. Look for them ; they'll apprear.

They may not be a gaudy as the male but I think they’re just as pretty

Female Northern Cardinal

This is our state bird here in Kentucky. After dinner this afternoon I thought I'd shoot a few images from my porch near a feeder I have in a tree. There were a hundred or more birds swooping around. The Yellow Background is the glow of the setting sun.

Hope you all are having a wonderful holiday

Early morning at the feeders

It's amazing to watch cardinals and their beautiful red colouring... it's even more amazing to watch a pair of cardinals claim territory over a hoard of sunflower seeds!

These two male cardinals must have exchanged spots numerous times until all of the seeds were gone

Je ne sais pas trop pourquoi le monde m'appel Le Cardinal !
