Artist Trading Card!
A collage piece.
I actually enjoyed doing these cards.
This one is "the explorer."
As an artist I explore the natural world as well as my inner self.
The foot print (one of my favorite things to do on the car window when its raining outside) resembles the steps that we have to take when we go on our expeditions. The ticket is a symbol of the chances/risks that we take when we go outside of our natural environment. On the bottom right hand corner there is a man holding on to an oar? But he's on a boat, also symbolic of the "explorer concept."
I made a new business card with my paperdoll illustration.
If you want play with it cut out and make your own dress for her.
I hope my purchasers love it.

A shot from the (predictably divisive) 2018 Irish Referendum campaign to legalise abortion.
The actual vote was a choice to Repeal or Retain the Eighth Amendment, a clause that was inserted into the constitution in 1983 that gives an equal right to life to a woman and her unborn child.
As the results of the first exit polls came through, it became clear that the result was going to be a landslide victory in favour of repealing the Eighth Amendment. Every county in Ireland (except Donegal) and every age group (except over-65s) voted for change.
The final outcome was:
Yes (Repeal): 66%
No (Retain): 34%
Made this card with the awesome color combo for the 1st week of Summer Card Camp.

Yeeees, I know, it's officially not the season for Easter cards ;)). BUT it was just the first idea that I had for a card with the yellow/white/black color scheme :). And those chickens are so cute, it really was the best excuse to use them!

I just discovered this wonderful and very seasonal cabinet card whilst sorting through a stack of random snapshots.
It reads:
"Wishing you a Happy Christmas
We come to sing of Jesus
On this bright Christmas morn,
The day when he our Saviour
A little child was born"
See below for the hand written greeting on the reverse.
My rough date estimate would be c. 1900.
Birthday card. I'd been looking at eighteenth-century european ceramics whose decoration tried to imitate chinese porcelain.
My friend Anita always sends me a birthday card, it's early, I won't celebrate until the 28th. This is made from handmade paper, it's so pretty. I just had to share it with y'all :)

My new chip and pin debit card arrived last week, so I decided to have some fun with it. This was done in Picasa2, using the focal black and white and soft focus effects. The original was a close-up done in macro mode.

I'm running a session at the Civray Photo Club on the 19th October on how to produce images in the high-key and low key genres of photography. Both are used in card design, the high-key being used especially for romantic pale, light-filled, softer images so I thought I'd work on designing a few such cards in preparation for the session. Here's my first attempt.
