POLI.design e il Master in Transportation & Automobile Design organizzano un’intensa giornata interamente dedicata al Car Design: evento di spicco l'intervento di Nicolas Bussetti, Interior designer di Italdesign, sul progetto Pop.Up, il primo sistema modulare di veicolo completamente elettrico a emissioni zero progettato per limitare il traffico nelle grandi città.
A seguire, la Graduation Ceremony con la proclamazione dei diplomati del Master appena concluso e l’inaugurazione della mostra "TAD Master Showcase 2017" con i lavori realizzati dagli studenti nel corso del Master.

Here is an artistic project I made during the recent "Gentleman's Fair". I drew and painted this vintage car (an American Pacer) only with Posca markers during several days. The background and shape of the drawings, the colors and patterns I have represented are clearly inspired by the American Pop Art culture to echo the Gentleman's Fair spirit, which is aimed at cool, passionate, elegant or hipster men. The fair is about the following themes: travel, design, cars, motorcycles, fashion, games, accessories, toys for boys, audio, video, art, health, technology, gastronomy, sports, watchmaking ...
This art project was a challenge because I did not have much time to finalize it. Posca are markers of acrylic paint based on water and pigments. I wear a mask to protect myself from possible evaporation.
The Gentleman's Fair attracts more than 100 exhibitors and over 10,000 visitors. This is an event that occurs every year in Waregem, Flanders, Belgium.
You can also enjoy there a delicious glass of whiskey in front of the fire, challenge your friends to the pool or enjoy a delicious cigar. Active, curious, fashion conscious or family man? Freak gadget, sports, hipster or bon vivant? The Gentleman's Fair is for all men who are confident and passionate about life.

After many years the original sketches of the MGF were seen by journalists. They had been created by Steve Harper, in around February 1991, and show different themes for the front and rear design, which were used to develop the first models of the car's final design

Holden Efijy attracted not so many people nevertheless it's as much impressive as Porsche or BMW which drug thousands. This is the kind you may never see again, what to say to drive which I'd like much after getting its technical data.
Complete new designed car by the Volkswagen Company in the early seventies. Despite the succeses of the Beetles with engine at the rear, this Golf was a real modern front wheel drive car.
Intern named VW type 17, this car would turn out to be the most succesful VW car after the Beetle.
Official introduction and first delivery: May 1974.
Ontwerp / cardesign Giorgio Giugiaro (Ital Design).
Strangely enough this Golf on the picture has a much newer body (note the double front lights, the bigger rearlights and the modern black plastc bumper). Probably a more modern body has been placed on an original 1974 chassis.
Once in the late 90's I already had taken analogue pictures of this Golf. I was surprised it was still existing.

I am interested in the history of car design, particularly the early Post-War period when manufacturers were seeking the way to go in style. I put this together to demonstrate the interesting evolution from thirties-style separate wings to the disappearance of this feature. They are in a sort of order but some – like the Austin Atlantic and the Allard P1, don't really fit in with the sequence! Hope you find it interesting...
