Changing a defective battery on a 2015-2022 Ford Mondeo (diesel) is surprisingly easy and should be well be within the capability of a home mechanic, however on this occasion I left it to a professional.
The battery was the original from when the car was new and lasted 7 years, 2 months and 18 days from first registration. Not too bad considering the tough life this vehicle has as a stop start Hackney Carriage taxi.
This car is a continuation of my long tradition of owning and/or driving countless 'D' sector 'large family' class of Ford Cortina/Sierra/Mondeo motor vehicles that stretches all the way back to early 1986 and my purchase of a 1977 Ford Cortina Ghia.
