High Rock Overlook -- More from our last adventure just days before the first lockdown. We got lucky to have the place basically to ourselves.
Sunrise didn't look up to much today so I thought I'd share another from yesterday morning. I used a 4 minute exposure, with the assistance of the Lee Big Stopper for this image.
There's something I find really mesmerising about this and the fact you can capture so much time all in one image... a reminder to take a step back and recognise what's important, as it can be over all too quickly.
The roseate spoonbill is beautiful in almost any light but the setting sun gives it almost a luminous look !! We are so fortunate to have this species in Florida and to be able to see it in different situations and light .

In the north of Iceland, in late February this year. For granted, places of splendid beauty like this are not a view from our window for most of us. But when we do see them, they get photographed - time and again!

Captured this morning while the dogs swam in the local lake while being seen off by a Swan.......the Swan was fine, but the dogs are still in shock :-)
When I heard a 70 approaching Mill Lane Junction, Northampton, I was almost excited. However, when the train came into view, I was utterly disappointed, as it was virtually empty. I would usually refuse to take a photograph of such a train, leaving them instead for John Tomlinson, but as I had been starved of railway shots of late, tried something a little different.

It was a competition of some sort for young girls at the Fair. I was in the back of the room, and there was no way to get enough DOF to get both the phone and the stage in focus. But by taking two photos--first the phone, then the stage, in focus--I was then able to composite them into a single story telling image. I should have taken a third shot, since there is blur visible in the audience between the phone and the stage. Oh well, next time...

This image of the black rhino was captured as he came down to the water whole just as the sun was beginning to go down. We were so thrilled that he came when he did because there was just enough sun to get a few images and then it was gone. Such awesome creatures and to know they were endangered we felt fortunate to have seen them and so close.

Model here is the brilliant music artist Lucy Schwartz who I did artwork for. We discussed what the artwork would look like at length, and then went to create something magical together. I really liked how it turned out and am super thankful I could collaborate!
