This image evokes an image of a middle European castle from a mythical princely fiefdom evolving in an icy world doomed to disappear with global warming. In my childhood I woke in the winter mornings to ice pictures which anointed the inside window glass of a scarcely heated house.

we visited our son, and stopped to take a pic at the top of the hill of the cathedral on the hill...sorry it includes the bus stop, lamp post etc ! The nave of St Alban's I believe is the longest in England or poss UK. A famous battle was fought here during the Wars of the Roses..I shall try and arrange time for more pics on another visit !
I spotted this girl with a few of these tiny wooden cages stacked upon each other and felt a little distressed (as I'm a bird owner myself, I have a Cockatiel). According to the tour guide we were with, Buddhists believe that setting free captive animals is good merit, although that still left the question hanging as to why it is okay to capture them in the first place (obviously for the money, but still!).
I thought I'd try this photograph in monochrome as I feel the image is saddening, the colour would reflect warmth and happiness and that's not what I want to portray.

It lights up my life when I can capture nature's beauty with my camera. There is nothing blooming outside yet, so I bought these just to take pictures of. I love it when I can get good macros. I’m still learning how to use my macro lens. It’s a challenge to find the right focus point. But I have dreams of taking awesome flower macros.

This little guy had fallen way behind mom and the others by the time I caught up with him. It was leave him alone to be eaten by neighborhood animals or take him to the wild life refuge. Since geese are federally protected in Illinois if you capture one you have 24 hours to relocate it to a wild life refuge.
