Love birds of prey when I was 15, I carried this huge mdf board with a Goshawk on it home was stunning with the Latin name at the bottom for my room lol since then I have a love of all birds & wildlife :)

I did not notice the little spider in the flower until processing the photo. If you look at the phot in full resolution you can see the beginnings of net being spun between the flower petals.

I went along to an event at Farmer Copley's field, Pontefract, organised by Wakefield Camera Club and saw this beautiful eagle owl.
After the rain cleared we were blessed with the glorious early evening sunshine that gave everything a lovely warm, golden glow.
The birds (there were 3 of them; a barn owl, this European eagle owl and what I think was an eagle) were calm, cooperative and were obviously well looked after and cared for.
I tried to capture them in flight but didn't quite manage it - still not sure of the settings needed for that and I just want quick enough off the mark. Never mind, I did manage to get this beauty!

Day 8 of 20 of albums that influenced my musical tastes.
I don't remember if it was around 1988 or 1989. There was an interesting alternative-punk street market every Saturday on the north part of my hometown Mexico City. It was more like a flea-market, where you could find also second hand clothes, music patches, and a lot of weird-looking people, but it was a safe place. No one messed with you. It was other times. At first we went with my parents, but soon after, my brother, my friends and myself went by public transport, around two hours by bus or metro.
There was a guy who had a huge selection of music that wasn't available on the record stores. He sold recorded cassettes with the entire album and filled the rest of the tape with other interesting recordings. I bought there the first INXS album and discovered The Mission UK, the first U2 album and ICEHOUSE's Man of Colours. One day I found a cassette that caught my attention, it was a soundtrack of a movie that I've never heard about it with the music written and played by The Edge, U2's guitar man. The guy that sold me the music warned me that it was not the usual Edge's sound, but I still bought it.
When I listened for the first time, it was an immediate rush of blood to the head and the heart. Music I’ve never heard before, but it felt familiar. I’ve discovered how ambient music sounds, with knowing its name. The music filled the rom and I could feel complete at those teen years. The cassette was filled with other beautiful pieces of another artist, but I lend it to a girl that I liked and she never returned to me, so it got lost in the air.
The movie was a 1986 film called Captive. I’ve never saw the film, although there are some parts of it on YouTube.

Luxor -Ramses III:s Tempel-Medinet Habu
The temple, some 150 m long, is of orthodox design, and resembles closely the nearby mortuary temple of Ramesses II (the Ramesseum). The temple precinct measures approximately 700 ft (210 m). by 1,000 ft (300 m) and contains more than 75,350 sq ft (7,000 m2) of decorated wall reliefs.[1] Its walls are relatively well preserved and it is surrounded by a massive mudbrick enclosure, which may have been fortified. The original entrance is through a fortified gate-house, known as a migdol (a common architectural feature of Asiatic fortresses of the time).
Just inside the enclosure, to the south, are chapels of Amenirdis I, Shepenupet II and Nitiqret, all of whom had the title of Divine Adoratrice of Amun.
The first pylon leads into an open courtyard, lined with colossal statues of Ramesses III as Osiris on one side, and uncarved columns on the other. The second pylon leads into a peristyle hall, again featuring columns in the shape of Ramesses. This leads up a ramp that leads (through a columned portico) to the third pylon and then into the large hypostyle hall (which has lost its roof). Reliefs and actual heads of foreign captives were also found placed within the temple perhaps in an attempt to symbolise the king's control over Syria and Nubia.
In Coptic times, there was a church inside the temple structure, which has since been removed. Some of the carvings in the main wall of the temple have been altered by coptic carvings.

Happy almost weekend everyone! My dear friend, Oliver, and I decided to go explore some of the pretty autumn sims today, and of course Shep came along with us, cause no way is he missing out on any adventure! Needless to say, we ended up far from home and with no wi-fi signal, so when we stopped for a break, Oliver decided to play guitar in lieu of any actual music availability. I was thankful I had brought along my trusty clover headphones ... it tuned out most of this, uhm ... music. And as he was happily singing away, my ears were well protected from the dubious melodies! He had a captive audience of mice and chickens, so no lack of appreciation for his efforts!
