Quick photos of Peter Pan and Captain Hook Doll Set. They were taken outside of the Disney Store right after I purchased them. Gift bag and boxed doll set.
I stopped by my local Disney Store during my lunch break, to enter the raffle for the Peter Pan and Captain Hook Doll Set. I was about the tenth one picked. It turns out that there were 18 sets available, and 3 left after the raffle.
I went to the checkout line with the other raffle winners. In contrast to last week, when they only had one register for the raffle winners, today they had three registers going, which made for a much quicker and less stressful checkout. They allowed all people to inspect the dolls before they bagged them. Mine looked good, without any noticeable defects. Tinker Bell looked like a giant gnat, hanging from the front left corner.
Afterwards, I went to a table outside the store and took a few photos before going back to work. I will take more detailed photos and post them here later tonight.
From the book "Peter and Wendy" by J. M. Barrie. London: Hodder & Stoughton, (1911). First edition. This is the first book that tells the story of Peter Pan, Wendy and their exploits in Neverland along with the now familiar cast of characters that includes Captain Hook, Tinker Bell, the Lost Boys and Tiger Lily.
The complete set of all dolls in the 2015 Disney Fairytale Designer Collection, Heroes and Villains series. They placed side by side in their unopened boxes, covered by their slipcovers. They are in the order in which they were placed in the shipping carton. They are in front of my KidKraft Snowflake Mansion, with the Disney Parks Snow Queen Elsa small figurine doing her presentation gesture at the top of the staircase.
My pre-ordered full set of the 2015 Disney Fairytale Designer Collection Heroes and Villains dolls arrived after a delay on November 6, 2015. I had ordered them at the D23 Expo on August 14, 2015. They are all edition number of 65 of 6000. They came in perfect condition, and I think most if not all the dolls are better than the ones I bought separately (which I have deboxed or will debox). By the way, I got 5 gift bags in this shipment, and got another 5 in a separate shipment. So like most people who pre-ordered the full collection, I am getting twice as many bags as I should have.
Here are my first photos of the set, taken with flash. They were taken in front of my KidKraft Snowflake Mansion. I will later take photos of my deboxed Designer dolls next to these dolls, which I will leave boxed. But before I do that I will have to debox the Rapunzel and Mother Gothel set and the Snow Queen Elsa and Hans set.
I went for my weekly visit to Disneyland on Sunday, February 2, 2014. The park was fairly crowded, and the weather was mostly sunny in the low 60s. I went to the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney. The Frozen section was empty last week, but this week they had T-shirts for Anna, Elsa and Olaf, and a few miscellaneous items. No Frozen dolls at all. I took some photos of the Frozen posters in the area. Then I went to the collectibles and jewelry section, and took some photos of Disney icons behind the jewelry counter and on the ceiling.
In Disneyland Park, I went to the China Closet and decided to get a lovely musical snowglobe of Sleeping Beauty Castle. It plays "Once Upon a Dream" when wound up, and has a multi-color LED that shines alternating red and blue lights on the castle. There are figures of the first six Disney Princesses: Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle and Jasmine surrounding the globe. The scene depicts the Castle and the Princesses on a cloud. The figures are painted very nicely, and faces of the Princesses are very good representations of the movie characters.
The modern conception of the seafaring pirate originates with two fictional characters, Long John Silver from Robert Louis Stevenson's novel Treasure Island (1883), who had a peg-leg and a parrot perched on his shoulder, and Captain Hook from J.M. Barrie's play Peter Pan (1904) who had a metal hook in place of his right hand. Peter Coffin's pop-culture pirate is endowed with multiples of these attributes.....two parrots, two hooks for hands, and two peg-legs....as well as two eye patches. He embodies a modern antihero, defying authority, living apart from society, and freely roaming the world. Indestructible and steadfast, this blind and injured buccaneer is as enduring as the pirate icon itself.
Peter Coffin, a native Californian born in 1972, is a visual artist and contemporary sculptor based in New York City. Drawing on art history, science, psychology, and epistemology, Coffin creates multimedia works that reassemble the world around us in a way that makes us question our preconceptions and gain new perspective.

Let's continue our ride on Peter Pan's Flight tonight. The more times I ride this the more little gems I find on it. Not only do you have to look ahead of you, behind you, up above you...but you must also take in the glorious details below you.
This is a REALLY tough capture due to everything getting in the way of you and the camera. Then by the time you clear all of the sails, the ship is turning quickly away from this scene. As you can see though, I did manage to get this in (pretty good) focus.
Thanks for looking!!
Here are some photos from the set of Once Upon A Time, while being filmed in Steveston British Columbia, Canada.
Deboxing the Peter Pan and Captain Hook Doll Set. Captain Hook has been fully deboxed. He is free standing, with his sword in his right hand, but without his hat. His hook is permanently inserted into his left arm, in place of his left hand. As might be expected, his rooted hair is very stiff with hair product, to keep it in its unique style.
Detailed photos of the Peter Pan and Captain Hook Doll Set. It was released in US Disney Stores on Tuesday October 6, 2015. I got it at my local store through the raffle. My set is #3211 of 6000. There were 18 sets available, and 3 left after the raffle.
I have now fully deboxed the set (except for Tinker Bell). I show Peter and Hook separately and together. I also place Peter and Hook back on the display stand. Hook's hat won't stay on his head, so he is without his hat in all the deboxed photos. I found that Peter has hinge jointed elbows, not ball jointed as I had thought earlier, before I deboxed him. I haven't removed the clothing of either doll, but took a peek at their lower backs, and neither has edition stamps there. The outfits of both dolls are impressive, except for Hook's hat. Hook is 12 1/4 inches tall, Peter is 10 inches tall (about the same height as the Disney Store Flutter Wing Tinker Bell dolls).

In this scene we have Captain Hook's buddy Mr. Smee, or at least it sure looks like it could be.
Thanks for looking and have a great day!
Good evening everybody. Just as I posted yesterday that I would be getting back into my daily posting routine, I miss my post this morning. Apparently my alarm didn't go off so I wound up waking up at the exact time I am supposed to arrive at work. Oops. Anyways, Here is a dark ride shot of Peter Pan's Flight. Over the course of a week, I've burned up about 5 fastpass+ reservations on this ride to attempt to get some shots. I feel like I did okay, but lots of room for improvement next time around. I hope you enjoy and thanks for looking. Have a great weekend.
