I will now do a birthday serenade very quickly (because your day will not last long ...) and toast you with chilled rosé ... I wish you all the best and love and that everything stays in the green area ;-)
PS: I see a little bit of a green man here – that fits your penchant for extraterrestrials quite well :-) And the one hook reminds me a little of Captain Hook – but that shouldn't be intentional – you'd better get accompanied by Peter Pan in the new year ...
Happy birthday, dear Silke !!!

A 60 second long exposure taken moments after sunset on the Thai island Koh Kood. We stumbled (literally) upon these sea rocks at Captain Hook Resort, which boasts one of the best restaurants on the island.

theme Pareidolia (= seeing faces in objects).
- The hook is 4 cm high.
- I did find this hook in a rather dark place, it was not screwed to the wall but glued.
As the picture was taken with a rather high ISO by low available light, and being no flash user, the result was a bit grainy and flat.
To get a more acceptable result, I used the function 'Chrome' in PaintShopPro.
- Pareidolia is a psychological phenomenon that makes a simple sound or image into something far more noteworthy.
The human brain is masterful in organizing visual data into meaningful and significant shapes. It is a way to make sense of random or ambiguous patterns where none really exists.
Some common examples are seeing animals in clouds, monsters in cracks on the wall, or gnarly faces on tree trunks.
HOOK:
Hello there!
Maybe you guys can help me.
I am looking for a little boy in a green costume.
His name is Peter Pan.
If you find him, bring him to me. You will be richly rewarded for it!.
I don't think that I'll ever understand why everybody is so keen on welcoming the new year tired and with a headache. Is it for the feeling "it can only get better"? The last two years should have taught us that it will get worse, regardless how bad you feel this morning.
Oh well, here we are again, on the morning after the party.
Happy New Year 2022

Just finished producing an album for these guys. There are a few variations of this with more "levels" of shirt on shirt but it got too distracting for me.
Have another concept from this shoot in the post pipeline also.

Lady Washington (20th-century replica)
A ship replica of Lady Washington was built in Aberdeen, Washington, United States in time for the 1989 Washington State Centennial celebrations.Aberdeen is located on Grays Harbor, an inlet of the Pacific Ocean named for Robert Gray, the man who entered the harbor under sail for the first time as master of Columbia.
Named "Washington State's Tall Ship Ambassador", as well as the State Ship, the new Lady Washington is operated by a professional and volunteer crew under the auspices of the Grays Harbor Historical Seaport Authority. She sails up and down the Pacific coast, regularly in pair with Hawaiian Chieftain, educating students in the history of merchant trading, life of common sailors, and responsibilities of the ship's officers.
The current replica's mainmast is rigged with a topgallant sail and topsail above a gaff mainsail, as based on the post-Macau refit configuration. Old World (UK/international) terminology refers to this sail plan as brigantine, and New World (American) terminology refers to this as a brig.
Film and television appearances
Lady Washington has appeared in various films, portraying HMS Interceptor in the film Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl and the brig Enterprise, a namesake of the Starship Enterprise, on the holodeck in Star Trek Generations. She provided the basis for the RLS Legacy in the Disney animated feature Treasure Planet. She also transported Chinese immigrants to America in the IMAX film The Great American West. On television, the ship played a prominent role in the miniseries Blackbeard, and has appeared in the music video for rapper Macklemore's Can't Hold Us and as Captain Hook's ship the Jolly Roger on Once Upon a Time. The ship is the central visual element for Christian music group For KING & COUNTRY in their music video Burn the Ships.
* Lady Washington (18th century original)
The original Lady Washington, or more commonly, Washington[citation needed], was a 90-ton brig. Her early history is documented in the Massachusetts Soldiers and Sailors of the Revolutionary War as well as other documents. As part of the Columbia Expedition, she left Boston Harbor on October 1, 1787. She sailed around Cape Horn and participated in the maritime fur trade with the coastal Native Americans in the Pacific Northwest and in tea and porcelain across the Pacific in China. She was the first American-flagged vessel to round Cape Horn. She was the first recorded vessel to make landfall on the Oregon coast near Tillamook, Oregon. John Meares claimed that she was the first non-native vessel to circumnavigate Vancouver Island.
Named in honor of Martha Washington, she was captained during the American Revolutionary War by Naler Hatch, and post war by Robert Gray, and John Kendrick, former captain of her larger sailing partner, Columbia Rediviva and commander of the expedition. At the end of the first trading season, Kendrick ordered Gray to sail Columbia to China, while Kendrick took command of Lady Washington . Under the command of Kendrick, she was refitted in Macau as a brigantine.
Lady Washington became the first American vessel to reach Japan] in an unsuccessful attempt to move some unsold pelts. Lady Washington remained in the Pacific trade and eventually foundered in the Philippines in 1797. She was lost at the mouth of the Mestizo River, near Vigan, northwest Luzon in July 1797.

One of my first big MOCs was a ship which I finished in 2014. I remember it was a challenge to design and I wondered how I would approach building a ship this time, 7 years later, with a lot more building experience. One thing I knew for sure is that I didn’t want to make custom rigging, flags and sails anymore; the ship has to be 100% LEGO.
I thought Captain Hook’s ship, ‘The Jolly Roger’ from Disney’s Peter Pan, would be a fun and colourful ship to build. So, that’s what I did! It’s design and colour scheme is based on the ship in Disneyland Paris as it was when I first visited the theme park in 1992. I couldn’t find any blueprints or proper side views which made it hard to determine the dimensions. Luckily there is still Google Earth which enabled me to measure the ship’s width and length. Combine that with a load of pictures and Youtube videos and you get a long way!
Once again, the bow and stern proved to be the most difficult parts to build because of all the angles coming together at these points. Making the rigging was also a challenge without resorting to non-LEGO elements. The standard mast rigging pieces wouldn’t do for the shrouds because of the length, but instead I built them with bars, weapon hilts and droid arms. Various lengths of ‘string with end studs’ were excellent to use for the stays.
“Sai quando stai tra il sonno e la veglia?
Quando ti ricordi ancora quello che sogni?
Ecco, è lì che io ti amerò per sempre.”
"Allow me? I am Captain James Bartholomew Hook, world's most famous crook - captain of the fine mighty Jolly Roger and its crew, honorable pirate, finder of many treasures and killer of the Croco... Okay, who am I kidding.."
For some reason, Disney's Captain Hook was always a favorite of mine. Not really evil, clumsy and funny at times, having his own nemesis in the shape of a comical crocodile - and always being outwitted by Peter Pan. Or clumsy Mr. Smee.
Long story short: I had to build him - in this iconic pose, including the crocodile. It was great fun and a challenge to build at this scale, especially with those limiting colors (I'm talking to you, magenta!).
A pirate contest on Brikkelauget provided me with the perfect opportunity so it had to be done :D
What do you think?

After lunch at The Boathouse (which was very very good by the way...!) we took advantage of the discounted Amphicar rides. Genuine German-built amphicars, The Boathouse has the biggest fleet of them apparently. We cruised down the ramp and sailed around Village Lake for about 20mins and it was thoroughly pleasant. Matthew, our Captain, had his ears thoroughly chewed by his co-pilot who barely shut up for the entire time!

Miss Smee felt somewhat alone in the boat. Even though there was this beautiful indian girl staring her in the face and her captain was standing behind her.
“Cap’n”, she said, “do you really think it’s a good idea we’ve kidnapped the chief’s daughter to try and have her tell us where Peter Pan’s hiding place is? I mean; the chief will be rather sore at ya, don’t you think?”
Captain Iris Hook however did not reply. She was absorbed by her own thoughts while smoking her cigars.
“What do you think miss Tigerlily?” she asked the bound Indian girl in front of her. “Could you put in a good word for us with your dad? We really don’t mean to do you harm. Just tell us where Peter Pan is hiding and we’ll set you free again. Pretty please?”
The beautiful Tigerlily however stared back at Miss Smee with eyes of fire which made Miss Smee turn her head. She felt scared and ashamed at the same time for having kidnapped this utter gorgeous native girl.
Then she looked up again. She thought she had heard a soft noise. Had she really heard the ‘tick tock tick tock’ of a clock in the distance? Could it be that the crocodile that had swallowed an alarmclock was nearby? The ticking crocodile that also swallowed the captain’s hand after Peter Pan had cut if off? Was that monster around here? Then the noise was gone again and there was nothing but the silence of the cold night. She turned round again and said: “Cap’n, did you hear that? Did you hear that noise? Could it be that the croc is nearby?”
Captain Iris Hook didn’t hear her speak. She was deep in thought and stared at a certain point in the distance. Miss Smee could hear her mumble in herself. “Blasted Peter Pan ………………….. scervy brat ………………. cutting off my hand………… feeding it to that crocodile…………. bad form………bad form indeed ….. will get him………… will rip out his guts…………..”
Again miss Smee felt utterly alone in the boat. Then her heart skipped a beat; the tick-tock sound had returned!

Ahoi, captain obvious...
Oi mate, that's Captain Hook for you!
I mean, you need to compare it to something else, be it good or bad or funny.
Say what?
Like... is a lost day.
Ha, I don't remember how many days I've lost to alcohol.

A rare occasion of having unaltered collectable minifigures from three series (22,14,8) in one picture. This is the same background I used on the red King's Guard. Didn't bother yet to make it a real build, because it's easier to take pictures on an open stage.

During one of his missions Cap runs into a very strange individual: a pirate by the name of Captain Hook.
Steve has more pressing matters to deal with but Hook keeps standing before him.
“I saw it! You helped the cursed crocodile crossing the road!” He yells.
“What?” Comes the surprised reply of Steve.
“The cursed crocodile! The one that wants to eat the rest of me!” Says Hook showing his hand as he continues with his deranged accusations. As you may have noticed his current mental state is not very good.
“I demand satisfaction, man in a silly costume!” Hooks declares.
“Beside- he continues- what is that rounded thing you carry? A shield or a Frisbee? Ha Ha!”
“As a matter of fact, it’s both” Cap replies and he throws his shield at the evil pirate before he can draw his pistol.
The impact knocks him out for good taking care of his annoying presence
By the time Hook comes round, Steve’s mission will be complete.
It’s time for Cap to get back to the important matters.
