This engines first owner was Whitelocks of Conisborough, South Yorkshire and was used by them in their quarry and for stone haulage. At the outbreak of the First World War it was commandeered by the War Dept and was used by the army for haulage duties including the construction of Cranwell and West Wittering aerodromes. After the war it went to new owners in Barton on Humber and was used for general haulage. Percy Naylor of Middle Handley, near Chesterfield, purchased the engine in 1925 for use in general haulage and threshing. From 1945 it sat in a corner of Naylor's yard until 1955 when passed into preservation

These guys put 25 lines in the water, quite a bit of work. The lines are spread out over 200 feet at different depths. They use an interesting rigging system to keep the lines from tangling with each other.

A full figure bronze statue of Captain George Vancouver stands on the north side of City Hall, pointing towards Vancouver harbour and holding a partially open scroll in his left hand. The figure commemorates the events of 1792, when Captain George, a representative of King George III of England, sailed into Burrard Inlet and charted the area

My entry to Round 1 of the 2021 Bio-Cup, the theme being Media & Entertainment. My subtheme was Comics, and after a couple days of mulling I decided on building the good captain from one of my favorite comic series of all time. Of course, it took me until the last day to recognize my build was faulty and needed to be overhauled. Oh well.

Thanks to Luterem for the touch-up once again. Album not coming unless someone wants to see how this is constructed, because he only looks good from the one angle. :P

[This] 1980 sculpture by Alan Chung Hung [1946–1994], located adjacent to the Vancouver Maritime Museum in Vanier Park in the Kitsilano neighborhood of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.[1] The 4.6-metre (15 ft) sculpture of a square, cut and twisted "like a paper clip" to form an arch, is composed of weathered Corten steel that rusts to provide a protective layer. The work was installed in 1980 to commemorate the arrival of Captain George Vancouver in Burrard Inlet [...].

The work, sited on a plaza of paving stones that measures 7.9 metres (26 ft) x 8.5 metres (28 ft), frames views of English Bay, the North Shore Mountains and the city.[...]. According to Chung Hung [who was born in Canton, China, moved to Vancouver in 1969, and studied at the Vancouver School of Art]: "The objective of the sculpture is to create a symbolic image with definite visual expression, awakening an awareness in Captain George Vancouver's contribution to the world, his remarkable and meticulous surveys which included the north Pacific coast." “Oh Captain, My Captain”. Who knows where that comes from? Not a clue? It's from a poem by Walt Whitman about Mr. Abraham Lincoln. Now in this class you can call me Mr. Keating. Or, if you're slightly more daring, Oh Captain, My Captain.

--

“O Capitano, mio capitano!” Chi conosce questi versi? Non lo sapete? È una poesia di Walt Whitman, che parla di Abramo Lincoln. Ecco, in questa classe potete chiamarmi professor Keating o se siete un po' più audaci, “O Capitano, mio Capitano”

CAPTAIN BUGGY:

Listen, stupid Luffy and Sanji.

I want the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. There's no further discussion about it. I protect you and the world from evil pirates. Besides, I think these seas should be mine because I am Captain Buggy.

I want to rule all the great seas in the world!

There are only three. You can keep the smaller oceans, provided I don't need them.

Be grateful to me.

I think I deserve a kindness award.

Captain Buggy, Luffy, and Sanji are characters from One Piece.

One Piece is a Japanese manga series

One Piece follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy, a funny young man whose body gains the properties of rubber after accidentally eating a devil fruit. With his diverse crew of pirates called the Straw Hats, Luffy explores the ocean in search of the world's ultimate treasure known as One Piece to become the next Pirate King. An Original Video Animation has also been made from the manga.

Another custom featuring the new Arealight helmet and MMCB's fine cloth gear, complimented with CAC's DC-17 pistols.

Also sporting the new Lego blue color and redesigned arms, this version of Captain Rex is by far my best. I'm very happy with how it turned out, especially the welding marks.

Captain loves this box. It is just the right size to rest his head against the sides.

A little westie, dressed in a captain's outfit, navigating his boat

Prompt: Create an ultra-realistic, high-detail digital illustration of an anthropomorphic dog captaining a motorboat on a sunny day. The dog is a happy white west highland terrier, sitting upright in the captain’s chair with both front paws on the stainless steel steering wheel. It wears a crisp navy blue captain’s jacket with gold buttons and ornate rank stripes on the sleeves, along with a white peaked naval cap featuring a gold anchor emblem. A red undershirt or scarf is visible beneath the jacket.

The boat is a sleek, modern motorboat with cream-colored leather seating and a polished dashboard. A clear plastic cup of beer rests in a cupholder beside the captain’s seat. The boat is out on calm, turquoise water with small green islands visible in the background. The sky is clear and blue, and a blue canopy partially shades the captain.

Lighting is bright and natural, casting clean shadows. The overall mood is playful and whimsical with a realistic rendering style, as if the scene were part of a humorous luxury lifestyle photo shoot for dogs.

Style: Hyper-realistic digital illustration

Mood: Cheerful, humorous, nautical

Resolution: Ultra high-detail (ideal for 12K)

Aspect Ratio: Vertical

Color Palette: Nautical blues, whites,

Captain Discovery by Rachael and Phillippa Corcutt

From the website:

It’s all hands on deck and ship ahoy with this playful design. Capitan Discovery wears a sailors hat, eyepatch, binoculars and has a trusty seagull friend. This design is inspired by Hampshires connections to the sea and the wonders of exploration, travel and discovery. From exploring new places from farther afield, to taking in the stunning sights off Hampshire's coastline. Celebrating Hampshire's maritime history and culture, this design evokes the wonder of the ocean.

There is a new art trail in Southampton and Winchester this summer. For ten weeks Hares of Hampshire will bring thirty-two large hares and forty-two leverets to the streets, parks, galleries and shops of the two cities.

All money raised by donations and by the auction of the hares at the end of the summer will go to the Murray Parish Trust.

Captain Charles and Sophie - Diesel Locomotives, Sophie is the 2nd diesel along from the Captain. Both seen here at Cheddleton Station, Staffordshire.

33102 “Sophie” - In Traffic

33021 “Captain Charles” – Awaiting Repairs

33021 was originally numbered D6539 and in 1974 the loco - now carrying BR Blue livery -was renumbered to 33021 under the British Rail TOPS scheme and became part of Class 33/0 - indicating a non push-pull fitted loco.

33021 was withdrawn from mainline service in 1996 but then purchased privately and overhauled. Subsequently 33021, carrying a Post Office Red type of livery, became one of the first privately owned locos to be returned to use on the mainline and was utilised for workings such as charters and special services. After a period out of use at Tyseley Depot the loco was again sold privately in late 2009, and following restoration and renovation, operated for the first time in more than 6 years in September 2010 at the Battlefield Line. Later that year the loco, now back in BR Blue livery, moved to the Churnet Valley Railway and in July 2011 was named 'Captain Charles'.
