Early morning filtered light enters Bryce Canyon.

This view is looking south up Rock Creek Canyon, just south of Red Lodge, Mt

Yellowstone's Lewis River carved this impressive canyon on it's way to joining the Snake River.

Named after Meriwether Lewis. However, he didn't pass by here during his Corp of Discovery Expedition to the Pacific coast. They were much further North.

Enjoy a wonderful Sunday!

Thanks for taking a look!

Our view of the Grand Canyon

Reflected light from sun-kissed canyon walls season a frozen pool with color.

Buck Canyon Overlook shows many scares of nature and a lot the beauty as well.

With the spring so slow in coming, I was looking for a warm-looking photo and had to dig into my collection very deep... all the way to our unforgettable trip to the U.S. South-West 2.5 years ago. Will publish some more photos from there soon...

Bryce National Park, Utah, U.S.A.

A very cold hike into Hidden Canyon at Zion Canyon National Park. Very steep and ice-covered in many places and a very beautiful canyon.

Hoodoos there in the very early morning, and another photographer was showing up too I think ;)

Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon in the American Southwest. It is located on Navajo land east of Page, Arizona.

The Fish River Canyon is located in the south of Namibia and it is the largest canyon in Africa.

Shadows moving across the Grand Canyon add just a little more drama to this most sublime American landscape.

Taken September 2012 when we stayed for a few days in a lodge on the edge of the canyon

A Canyon Wren jumping with its eyes closed!

"A tiny bird with a big voice, the Canyon Wren sings a gorgeous series of sweet, cascading whistles that echo off the rocky walls of its canyon habitat. Canyon Wrens are incredibly agile birds that hunt for insects mostly among rocks, scaling cliff faces and using their long, slender bills to probe into crevices with surgical precision. They are a rich cinnamon-brown, with a salt-and-pepper pattern on the head and a neat white throat patch."

San Lorenzo Canyon is a recreation area operated by the Bureau of Land Management. To reach the canyon, head north from Lemitar (near Socorro, NM) on I-25, the west frontage road. Head left at the sign for San Lorenzo Canyon and follow the dirt road to the large boulders blocking the entrance to the canyon. On foot, the easiest way over is on the right along the fence. There are no marked hiking trails, just follow the canyon to the spring at the end. You are also free to bushwack anywhere in the area, just don't cross the fence into the Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge.

Many thanks to all those who view, fav or comment my pictures. I very much appreciate it.

Canyon de Chelly, Navajo Nation, Arizona

Hiking in Solstice Canyon, Malibu CA - the sun out here has this really intense quality that feels totally different than Boston. And the drought is noticeable everywhere.

Now that I'm in California, the question is, should I post the photos I'm taking now or the ones I took in Guatemala last week? Though to be honest, the internet connection at my parents house up in the canyons of the Santa Monica mountains isn't all that much better than the access I had in Guatemala, so I still probably won't be online very much till I get back to Boston.

The Grand Canyon. It is a most amazing place.

I love deep deep canyons and Canyon de Chelly is one of the most beautiful I've seen. It is also full of native American history which makes it even more appealing. It is another of those places in the heart that I want to go back to over and over. I can hear the echoes of the ages beckoning to me to come back!
