More of Rattlesnake Canyon.

South rim of the Grand Canyon, Arizona

Sunrise at the Grand Canyon, North Rim, Point Imperial,

Rattlesnake Canyon is a wilderness within the McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area. It is best know for its concentration of arches, which form along the eastern rim of the canyon (to the right), although the western wall has many alcoves and a few arches. This photo is taken looking north, toward the Book Cliffs on the horizon. The Colorado River is between Rattlesnake Canyon and the Book Cliffs, indicated here as a strand of green cottonwoods in the distance.

I have been hiking here 4 days, and have not come across a rattlesnake.

Heading to the Canyon I had to stop and take this shot, almost became road kill! one thing missing was a cloudy sky. - Grand Canyon National Park - Arizona.

For sheer spectacular beauty, the Salt River Canyon almost rivals the Grand Canyon. I only was able to photograph a small part of it but I am going back for the rest. The river at the bottom is the Salt River.

Taken from essentially the same place as the previous shot; this one is downstream, as Mee Canyon finds its way to the Colorado River.

Mee Canyon is west of Rattlesnake Canyon (known for its arches) in McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area, in western Colorado.

Das ist die "Laidy" im Lower Antelope Canyon. Das motiv hat sich schon in diversen Werbespots zeigen lassen, im Letzten von Gillet. Diese Figur ist sehr eindrücklich und man erkennt sofort die "Laidy"

The wind was warm on my cheek. The morning chorus echoed in the valley below in a song that lasted for miles. I was watching the world turn. I saw the earth wake from its slumber to the light of a star.

I really don't dig heights, 3 or 4 feet from edge and no railing. A white knuckle experience to say the least :)

Fog and clouds were moving in and out of the canyon throughout our entire hike. I was thankful that we made it to this vista when we did -- the view was incredible and there wasn't any fog to obscure it.

I took this pic during my flight between Chicago and Las Vegas. If anybody knows this canyon's name, let me know.

Palo Duro Canyon State Park opened on July 4, 1934 and contains 26,275 acres of the scenic, northern most portion of the Palo Duro Canyon. The Civilian Conservation Corp of the 1930's constructed most of the buildings and roads still in use by park staff and visitors.

Mix of lighting while along the rim of the north side of the Grand Canyon. The warm light is from the lodge shining down ... and the white light is from my flashlight. Played around with some light painting ... this was the first attempt here where shining it on the tree there for a few seconds directly. After this played around more with comps and light painting where I added the light indirectly.

Liked this comp as it also showed that lone light from a camp down at the bottom of the Grand Canyon ... there all alone in the dark.

... and HFF, there is a fence there at the edge of the outcrop of rock to keep you from falling down into the canyon if you venture out to the overlook. Where I was standing here at the rim ... only air holding you back ;)

The Antelope Ruins (middle right) can be seen several hundred feet below the rim. The Ancestral Puebloan (Anasazi) ruin was built and occupied between 850 to 1270 AD. It is estimated that the complex had about 90 rooms. The ruins are named after nearby painted rock wall figures that include antelopes.
