These two squirrels frequent my yard and the other day were enjoying the sunshine. Although, it was not even 50 degrees they made the best of it especially after a few days of colder weather and rain.
They were sitting on branches of the dogwood tree right outside my window.

CHEF bethrosengard wants us to create a sculptural fantasy!
➤ The main focus of your image must be a sculptural art object(s), anything from the tiniest statuette to the Statue of Liberty, whether abstract or representational.
➤ You must set the object against a land-, sea- or cityscape that is not the object's usual setting.
➤ Include any one or more of the following: bees, bears, butterflies, birds, bats, beavers, bobcats, buffalo. (For 'extra credit' ;-), you may choose any of these instead: binturong, bandicoot, bichir, bonobo, bongo or bushmaster.)
➤ Your composition must have some kind of decorative border.
➤ NO PEOPLE (other than, possibly, the sculpture).

I looked out my porch window last evening and started to see the sky changing colors. The colorful sky was staying hidden but not for too long. This is only part of the Norway maple in the backyard. You can still see the yellow leaves hanging on for a while longer.

In my continued quest to reproduce the appearance of an old Dutch master oil painting, this week's photo has been ‘painted‘ over using the oil paint brushes in Pixelmator (iPad) then further textured and processed in Photoshop for an oil painting effect.

I was surprised to see a cardinal in my garden early this morning. It didn't mind that the flag pole or the flag were old because it wanted to sit in the sun's warmth, especially when the temp's were in the teens.

I've had this in mind for a while but needed to find a suitable frame. I actually wanted a big gilt frame but I certainly don't own one and I couldn't find anyone who did [who wouldn't mind me removing the picture]. After a a few visits to the local charity shops I found this. It'll do- especially as it was only two squid!
This is me in one of my Karen Henriksen hats. I love it but don't get out much to wear it...sob. Still, Cyrus enjoyed it!

Something different...The sun was behind me, hence the different degrees of light floating around my head...looked more like a watercolor, therefore named as such...
Hope your Monday has been swell! Thank you for your visits...
Rosenburg is a castle in Lower Austria. It is situated on a cliff above the valley of the river Kamp. It is one of Austria's most visited Renaissance castles. There has been a castle on this site since the 12th century. The castle was reconstructed in Renaissance style in 1593-1597, and it was further expanded in the course of the 17th century. After neglection and fires in the 18th and 19th centuries, the castle was renovated between 1859 and 1889. The castle is now a museum.
Once again I visited this magical place. And as every time I was surprised about the size and the outstanding beauty of this castle.
One more day till it's officially Spring.
Happy Bokeh Wednesday everyone.
Much more refreshing On Black
If anyone could ID this flower for me, I'd really appreciate it.
On the second day of my visit we went to Sunrise on Mt Rainier.. It was a bit hazy but was able to get this shot of Mt Adams to the south...Processed with Oil Paint and added Canvas Texture.. Happy Sliders Sunday, Everybody!!!!!
There's something about daisies that I really love... These ones were taken in Portrush, Co. Antrim last Saturday.... I've used a texture (first one in ages) by Kerstin Frank - here's the link

Today, I'm heading back to Portrush for the North West 200, one of the UK's most popular motorcycle road races. I miss my motorbike on days like this, but it's probably better I stick to 4 wheels LOL
Wishing you all a very happy and safe weekend and thank you for all the wonderful comments on yesterday's dark hedges pic :)

Saw this license plate and I have wondered about it ever since. Virginia has the highest number of vanity plates of the whole USA, but most do not express such feelings.....but maybe this lady's name is 'Sad'.....but wouldn't that be kinda sad too?
In the foreground Eight surving columns of The Temple of Saturn; then the Arch of Septimus Severus; the 2 buildings to the rear are the medieval church of Santi Luca e Martina and the Curia a 3rd century rebuilding of the Curia.
"Majestic American Bald Eagle" by Patti Deters. An American Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) perches majestically on a snow-covered pine tree branch, surveying a cold but serene winter landscape. There's a bit of misty fog obscuring some of the distant vista, but the raptor's sharp predator eyes can easily see well-enough to scan for prey. This composite scene conveys a sense of the tranquility and beauty of nature during a winter season. Several texture overlays have been blended together for artistic effect on the painted landscape background. Thank you for viewing this image. If you like outdoor nature photography, please enjoy more birds, animals, and other wildlife images at patti-deters.pixels.com/featured/majestic-american-bald-e....
The word Iris means rainbow. It was named after the Greek Goddess Iris of the rainbow because Irises come in many colors. She acted as a link between heaven and earth.
This shot was taken on my 15 minute picture taking session here at Ft. Sam. I've got so many shots from this and my trip to the Botanical Gardens to process...but I liked this one and wanted to share it. I applied "Matt's Nostalgic Effects 2" after a Creative - Cold Tone preset in Lightroom 2. Then I applied a canvas texture to it in PSE6.
I think this should be seen large. I'm just sayin'.
