Here are a few of my winter visitors that frequent my feeders. They were out and about on the bitter cold and snowy days. I usually have more than this that come to the feeders, but I wasn't able to get any photos.
(Left down and to the right) Male Downy woodpecker, Tufted Titmouse, Purple finch, White-breasted nuthatch, White-throated sparrow, and a Dark-eyed Junco. (Center) Carolina Wren.
When it's very cold the birds like to puff up their bodies and fluff their feathers to keep warm. They also like to sit in the lilac bush right outside my window to rest, or to wait for their turn at the feeders.

I was out taking photos this morning after a light snowfall overnight. I saw Snoopy high up in the old pine tree coming down from one of its favorite spots. Lucky for Snoopy, I did put some peanuts out right before that. Does this squirrel look like it needs anymore to eat? They're all wearing their winter coats the past few months.

I was surprised to see a small branch with tiny lilac flowers in bloom again. I used my tablecloth as a backdrop for a few photos. So now there is a bit of spring and fall mixed together. No matter what season the flowers smell lovely.

Believe it or not this was taken during a heavy rain we were having this afternoon. The storm was coming in from the west and this is looking toward the east. I grabbed my camera hoping that the formation would still be there. If you do zoom in, you can see the raindrops.

This morning there were frosty designs on my porch windows. It was below zero here. This is two photos taken from the same porch window. This window overlooks the garden with a snow covered wall in the background and some spots of sun. This was taken with a Fuji FinePix S700 camera not a Kodak Easy Share. All the other info in the EFIX is incorrect too.

I have milkweed that blooms in my cottage garden every year. I've always seen Monarch butterflies at it, but this year I was surprised to see a Yellow Swallowtail butterfly at them. This is a photomerge of the same butterfly, (wings folded) sitting on the flowers.
