[ Zion Court of the Patriarchs (B&W) ] [ 800px on black background ] (recommended)
Haven't done a b&w for a while; taking a little break from posting colorful seascapes...
Adjusted one of last years images with Piccure+ - sharpening is quite impressive, though processor intensive:)
[ Early winter morning light on Upper Yosemite Falls ] [ Large ]
This is an old photo. I haven't been around much lately. Hope all is well in your world.
[ Large ] [ I dreamed I was a butterfly ... ]
"I dreamed I was a butterfly, flitting around in the sky; then I awoke. Now I wonder: Am I a man who dreamt of being a butterfly, or am I a butterfly dreaming that I am a man?" -- Zhuangzi
"There's no time to give at all
I cause you grief and blow my hatred
Further in your mind
You reach, I run, you fall
On skinned knees you crawl
I want to set you free, recognize my disease
Love, sex, pain, confusion, suffering
You're there crying, I feel not a thing
Drilling my way deeper in your head
Sinking, draining, drowning, bleeding, dead"
Jæren, western coast of Norway. June 2010.
While the sand flew fast and low in the morning wind, the subtle dawn light revelead the sensual shapes of coastal sand dunes.

Working on the rule of thirds I guess this will not be as popular as "Time to go", I would fully value experienced opinion. For what its worth my interest in this is back-light, tails and ears etc. I feel I should, and probably will delete this version in favour of "time to go". Come on flickr`ists let me know.
On a different note I can say that this picture was unplanned. I climbed this hillside solely thinking about a sunset shot of rolling countryside and ended up making a quick departure while fending off these young bulls with my tripod!!!
Le phare de la Revellata , sur la pointe du meme nom, vu du bateau qui nous emmène visiter la merveilleuse baie de Scandola
The Revellata lighthouse, on the cape of the same name, seen from the boat that takes us to visit the wonderful bay of Scandola

There are many works by Giambologna in the Bargello.
"Giambologna (Douai, 1529 – Firenze, 13 agosto 1608) — (known also as Jean de Boulogne and Giovanni da Bologna) — was a Flemish sculptor based in Italy, celebrated for his marble and bronze statuary in a late Renaissance or Mannerist style." (Wikipedia, a mix of Italian and English)

Sastrugi in late morning light near Ranten (1419 m./4655 ft.) on Norefjell mountain range, Norway. March 2011.
Knowing that this location have had a lot of wind during the winter, I hoped to find interesting snowdrifts (sastrugi) during my 2-day ski trip on this mountain range. It turned out to be a 2-day long study of sastrugi only.
Massive shapes, knife-sharp edges and otherworldly beauty witnessed the invisible, yet powerful wind.

This shot is a reversal of the previous, the hill Sheabhal seen from the coast of Vatersay. The main settlement of Barra, Castlebay, lies below the hill, which is the highest point of the island.
The Sigma 50/1.4 didnt stay long..! I originally wanted the Canon one, but since the 5D2 seller gave me a better price, the more I bought (he was sellling all of his gear), I gave it a try since he had the Sigma. But after a few days of scratching my head massively after loads of misfocused shots, I decided to put it up for sale and today I got it sold. Cheap f/1.4 lenses arent too hard to sell, obviously..! -My old sigma 30mm got sold yesterday..!
