I have been going out to Hemingway Park in Boulder City Nevada, to photograph the bighorn sheep in the Mojave Desert. I think today I captured some of my best bighorn sheep images ever. Let me know what you think.

Parco Naturale di Strugnano (sitoUNESCO)

In cima alla scogliera, dove vi conduce un sentiero che parte da dietro la chiesa, si trova la croce in pietra bianca del 1600. Oltre a segnalare la prossimità del santuario della Vergine la croce avverte i navigatori della vicinanza della terraferma. Da questo punto spettacolare i visitatori possono godere di una vista stupenda sul golfo sotto la falesia, sul Golfo di Trieste, col bel tempo si può vedere fino al Monte Tricorno (Triglav).

 

Scogliere spettacolari e viste costiere: Il confine settentrionale del parco è caratterizzato da una scogliera di flysch alta 80 metri, che offre panorami mozzafiato sul Golfo di Trieste e sullo scintillante Mare Adriatico.

Saline tradizionali e laguna: Le saline ancora in attività e la laguna costiera di Strugnano sono una testimonianza viva delle tradizionali pratiche di produzione del sale e rappresentano un habitat ideale per numerose specie di uccelli.

Ricca biodiversità: Il parco ospita una grande varietà di piante e animali, rendendolo un luogo eccellente per il birdwatching e l'esplorazione della natura.

White-Breasted Nuthatch.

 

Sparrow-sized at between 5-6 inches in length. Blue-gray above with white underparts and face and a black crown. Usually seen creeping downward on tree trunks.

 

They can be found in deciduous and mixed forests.

 

Their range is from British Columbia, Ontario and Nova Scotia south to southern California, Arizona, the Gulf Coast and central Florida. They are absent from most of the Great Plains.

Eastern Chipmunk.

 

Between 8 1/2 to 11 3/4 inches in length. Reddish brown above with a white belly. 1 white stripe bordered by 2 black stripes on sides ending at the rump. 2 white stripes on back much thinner than side stripes. Dark center stripe down the back. Pale facial stripes above and below the eyes. Tail brown on tip and edged with black. Prominent ears.

 

The Eastern Chipmunk's habitat includes open deciduous woodlands, forest edges, brushy areas, bushes and stone walls in cemeteries and around houses.

 

They range from southeastern Canada and the north-eastern U.S. east from North Dakota and eastern Oklahoma and south to Missisippi, northwest Carolina and Virginia.

Great Creasted Flycatcher.

 

Crosswinds Marsh, Wayne County, Michigan.

Red-Winged Blackbird (female).

 

Smaller than the American Robin at 7 to 9 1/2 inches. The male is black with bright red shoulder patches. Females and young heavily streaked with a dusky brown color.

 

Their habitats include marshes, swamps and wet and dry meadows; pastures.

 

They breed from Alaska southeast across Canada to Newfoundland, and south to northern Baja California, central Mexico, the Gulf Coast and Florida. Winters regularly north to British Columbia, the Great Lakes and Pennsylvania.

American Robin.

 

9 to 11 inches in length. Gray above and brick red below. In males, the head and tail is black while females are dull gray. Young birds are spotted below.

 

Inhabits towns, gardens, opeen woodlands and agricultural land.

 

They range from Alaska east across North America to Newfoundland and south to California, Texas, Arkansas and South Carolina. They winter north to British Columbis and Newfoundland.

Usually seagulls are not my top priority, but this time she was in a great light and at the top of nice pole so I did not have a choice but to shoot her - In a good way!

Black-Capped Chickadee.

 

Between 4 3/4 to 5 3/4 inches long. Black cap and throat, white cheesk, gray back and dull white underparts. Wing feathers narrowly and indistinctly edged with white.

 

They can be found in deciduous and mixed forests, and open woodlands and suburban areas in winter.

 

They range from Alaska east across Canada to Newfoundland, and south to northern California, northern New Mexico, Missouri and northern New jersy. Winters south to Maryland and Texas.
