Hey love
Tonight's the night
We have our candlelight night
So I'm gonna give you all of my lovin' baby
'Cause words can't express the way I'm feelin' 'bout you
So let's just take our time and slow it down
Slow it down, take our time
I'll be yours, and you'll be mine
On our candlelight night
Slow it down, take our time
I'll be yours, and you'll be mine
On our candlelight night
Yeah, tonight's the night
After attempting to photograph many tiny objects, I ended up settling on this wooden ornament, a souvenir from Sorrento, Italy. I hung the ornament from the star on our hand carved Olive Wood Nativity Stable which provided the lovely colored background bokeh reflection of the candlelight. (I didn't want to put a candle next to the Christmas tree even though my last pyro near death experience produced a cool image:
I experimented with the placement of the votive candle and liked this shot in which the candle flame was about 5" below the ornament. The ornament is 3" x 2 3/4".

Saturday Self Challenge: Seasonal.
It was a quiet Christmas/New Year photography wise, taking only a few photos. We are currently house-sitting, with the Christmas decorations still in place. Hence, this photograph of Christmas beads, taken by candlelight, is designed to meet two challenges in one.
Macro Mondays - Lit By Candlelight
I decided to go with a holiday theme and to process it just a bit. This is a portion of a reindeer candle holder with a crystal Christmas tree in the background to add some bokeh. I had a tall candle on either side for lighting and all other lights were off. There was just a bit of ambient light coming in through the windows, but not much at that time of day. The bit of red over the eye is a reflection of the big red mug that I use for my tea. The splashes of blue are probably from the blue fleece that I was wearing. I thought about reshooting to get rid of the red and blue, but decided to leave it. If you look closely, you can also see just a bit of green candle wax in the red highlight. HMM!
