Panjwa'i District, Afghanistan
Soldiers from Oscar Company, 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment Battle Group, talk to local villagers in the Panjwa’i district to explain why they are in their area. Positive relations with villagers are critical and every effort is made to foster a positive relationship with the locals.
In close cooperation with Afghan National Security Force, 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment Battle Group provides security by conducting counter-insurgency operations throughout Panjwa’i district located south-west of Kandahar City. The Battle Group conducts partnered operations with the 2nd Kandak of the 1st Brigade, 205 Corps of the Afghan National army, Afghan National Police and the Panjwa’i district Governor in order to advance governance, reconstruction and security in the area.
Operation ATHENA is Canada’s participation in the International Security Assistance Forces in Afghanistan. Focused on Kandahar Province in southern Afghanistan since the fall of 2005, Op ATHENA has one over-arching objective: to leave Afghanistan to Afghans, in a country that is better governed, more peaceful and more secure.

Des membres de la Compagnie Oscar du groupement tactique du 1er Bataillon, The Royal Canadian Regiment, s’entretiennent avec des Afghans dans le district de Panjwayi afin d’expliquer la raison pour laquelle ils sont dans la région. Il est essentiel de nouer de liens avec les habitants, et les militaires mettent tout en œuvre pour encourager des rapports positifs.
En étroite collaboration avec les Forces de sécurité nationale afghanes, le groupement tactique du 1er Bataillon, The Royal Canadian Regiment, assure la sécurité en menant des opérations de contre-insurrection un peu partout dans le district de Panjwayi, au sud-ouest de la ville de Kandahar. Le groupement tactique mène des opérations en partenariat avec le 2e Kandak de la 1re Brigade, le 205e Corps de l’Armée nationale afghane, la Police nationale afghane et le gouverneur du district de Panjwayi afin d’améliorer la gouvernance, la reconstruction et la sécurité dans le secteur.
L’opération Athena constitue la participation du Canada à la Force internationale d’assistance à la sécurité (FIAS) en Afghanistan. Concentrée dans la province de Kandahar, dans le sud de l’Afghanistan, l’opération Athena poursuit un objectif essentiel : laisser l’Afghanistan aux Afghans et en faire un pays mieux gouverné, plus paisible et plus sûr.

The 3 RCR (Royal Canadian Regiment) based out of Petawawa, Ontario, is deployed throughout the southern Afghanistan province of Khandahar. Part of the ISAF (International Security Assistance Force) as Operation Athena, the battle group provides security for reconstruction and mentoring for local Afghan forces.

Working under extreme heat and pressure, engineers work around the clock to clear dangerous routes and mitigate the dangers of improvised explosive devices.

Les membres du génie de combat travaillent jour et nuit sous pression et dans des températures extrêmement chaudes afin de dégager des routes dangereuses et de réduire les dangers des dispositifs explosifs de circonstance.

This agile turboprop trainer is the aircraft for the early stages of the NATO Flying Training in Canada (NFTC) program. NFTC students log about 95 hours on the Harvard II. After successful basic training, the pilots are streamed into the fighter, multi-engine or helicopter programs.
CX2010-0506-04PEARL HARBOR (July 5, 2010) Members of 2nd Battalion of the Royal Canadian Regiment based at Canadian Forces Base in Gagetown, New Brunswick, board the Royal Australian Navy amphibious landing platform HMAS Kanimbla (L 51) to commence the sea phase of their training during Rim of Pacific (RIMPAC) 2010. RIMPAC is a biennial, multinational exercise designed to strengthen regional partnerships and improve interoperability. As such, the series of exercises has contributed to the security and stability of the region for 22 years. Canada has participated in every RIMPAC exercise since 1971. (Canadian Forces photo by Cpl. Aizkavēšanas un aizsardzības operācijā, kas mācību “Namejs” laikā 27.augustā norisinājās Vecumnieku novadā, bija iesaistīta Sauszemes spēku Mehanizētā kājnieku brigāde, Zemessardzes 1.Rīgas brigāde un Kanādas vadītā daudznacionālā kaujas grupa. Nosacītais pretinieks – Čehijas un Polijas bruņoto spēku karavīri ar kaujas tehniku un atbalsta ieročiem.
Vecumniekos karavīri un zemessargi bija izvērsušies divos objektos un to aizstāvība bija vienību galvenais uzdevums. Uzbrukumu sākotnēji aizkavēja Mehanizētās kājnieku brigādes 1.mehanizētais kājnieku bataljons. Pēc tam objektu aizsardzību veic Studentu bataljona kaujas grupa kopā ar Kanādas vadīto daudznacionālo kaujas grupu.
Mācības apmeklēja, ar brigāžu komandieriem un plānotājiem tikās arī aizsardzības ministrs Raimonds Bergmanis un Nacionālo bruņoto spēku komandieris ģenerālleitnants Leonīds Kalniņš.

On August 27, 2018 Latvian Land Forces Mechanized Infantry brigade, National Guard 1st Riga brigade and Canadien led eFP battlegroup Latvia personnel conducted delay and defence operations in Vecumnieki region, Latvia during military exercise “Namejs 2018”. The opposing force was soldiers from Polish Armed Forces and Czech Armed Forces.

Otrdien, 10.jūlijā, Latvijas armijas 99. dzimšanas dienā Ādažu bāzi apmeklēj Ministru prezidents Māris Kučinskis, Kanādas premjerministrs Džastins Trudo (Justin Trudeau), aizsardzības ministrs Raimonds Bergmanis, Kanādas aizsardzības ministrs Hardžits Sadžans (Harjit Sajjan), Kanādas ārlietu ministre Kristija Frīlanda (Chrystia Freeland), Nacionālo bruņoto spēku komandieris ģenerālleitnants Leonīds Kalniņš un Kanādas Bruņoto spēku komandieris ģenerālis Džonatans Vānss (Jonathan H. Vance).
Latvijas un NATO paplašinātās klātbūtnes Latvijā kaujas grupas karavīri apmeklēja svētku mielastu veltītu Latvijas armijas dzimšanas dienai, ko sarūpējusi Latvijas aizsardzības nozares vadība.
Par godu Latvijas un Kanādas delegācijas vizītei un Latvijas armijas dzimšanas dienai Ādažu bāzē notika izvietoto vienību svinīgā stāšanās un svecīšu nolikšana, godinot kritušo karavīru piemiņu.
Vizītes laikā abu valstu delegācijas iepazinās ar Sauszemes spēku Mehanizētās kājnieku brigādes spējām un uzdevumiem, Ādažu bāzes infrastruktūru, kā arī tikās ar NATO paplašinātās klātbūtnes Latvijā kaujas grupas sastāvā dienošajiem Kanādas karavīriem, lai pārrunātu viņu dienesta gaitu Latvijā.
NATO paplašinātās klātbūtnes kaujas grupu izveides un izvietošanas mērķis ir veicināt NATO īstenoto atturēšanu un stiprināt alianses aizsardzību, demonstrējot alianses solidaritāti un apņēmību aizstāvēt aliansi pret jebkāda veida agresijas izpausmēm. Svinīgā NATO paplašinātās klātbūtnes Latvijā kaujas grupas sagaidīšanas ceremonija notika 2017. gada 19. jūnijā Ādažu bāzē.
Daudznacionālo kaujas grupu Latvijā vada Kanāda, un to veido vairāk nekā 1000 karavīru no Albānijas, Čehijas, Itālijas, Polijas, Kanādas, Slovākijas, Slovēnijas un Spānijas, kas rotācijas kārtībā pilda dienesta pienākumus Latvijā, piedaloties mācībās ar Nacionālajiem bruņotajiem spēkiem, tādējādi uzlabojot savietojamību ar reģionālajiem sabiedrotajiem, lai spētu reaģēt uz drošības vides izaicinājumiem.
10.jūlijā Latvijas armija atzīmēs 99. dzimšanas dienu. Aizsardzības ministrija aicina ikvienu valsts iedzīvotāju piedalīties armijas dibināšanas gadadienai veltītajā akcijā „Pasveicini karavīru!”.

Du 18 au 29 avril 2012, des opérations de cordon et fouille sont effectuées par différentes équipes de combat, constituer de l’infanteries, des ingénieurs et des blindées.
Depuis le 10 avril dernier, plus de 3500 soldats provenant du 5e Groupe-brigade mécanisé du Canada (5 GBMC) s’entrainent dans les secteurs de la Garnison Gagetown (N.-B.) dans le cadre de l'exercice LION INTREPIDE, et ce, jusqu'au 9 mai 2012. Avec ses reliefs diversifiés, la Garnison Gagetown offre aux militaires de Valcartier un milieu d'entrainement différent et un plus vaste terrain de manœuvres.
L’exercice LION INTREPIDE 2012 permet aux unités du 5 GBMC, ainsi qu’à ses unités affiliées, de renouer avec différents concepts de guerre se concentrant désormais sur des techniques d'entrainement militaire plus classiques. Cette réorientation est essentielle pour l'accomplissement de futures missions de combat, d'aide humanitaire, de maintien de la paix ou autre

CFB Gagetown, NB
From April 18th to the 29th, cordon and search operations are conducted by different combat teams that are composed of infantry, combat engineers and armoured troops.
Since April 10, more than 3,500 troops from 5 Canadian Mechanized Brigade Group (5 CMBG) are in the Gagetown Garrison training areas (N. B.) for Exercise LION INTREPIDE, and will remain there until May 9, 2012. With its diverse terrain, Gagetown Garrison provides the troops from Valcartier with a different training environment and a vast training ground. Exercise LION INTREPIDE 2012 allows the units from 5 CMBG, and affiliated units, to renew with different war concepts that concentrate on more classic military techniques. This reorientation is essential in order to prepare the soldiers to carry out future combat missions, humanitarian aid, peacekeeping and other types of mission.

Mc.Queen, who died in a CF-188 crash near Cold Lake on Nov. 28th. 2016, a special "MISSING MAN" formation was flown by 4 RCAF CF-188's on December 7th., 2016 at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum /Hamilton International Airport (YHM). The missing man formation is an aerial salute performed as part of a flypast of aircraft at a funeral or memorial event, typically in memory of a fallen pilot
