These little doo-dads convert a cold shoe to a hot one, with a short lead to the X-terminal on the lens. They also clamp firmly to the slightly loose-fitting shoes in the plastic body. I used a second one to elevate my wide-angle accessory viewfinder, placing it on the left for more convenient right-eye access. This is a 3D printed Camera body, devised by Ethan Moses of Cameradactyl, that takes Mamiya-Press lenses and 2x3 Graflok film backs.

28mm/3.5 Nikkor PC Shift Lens. The Cameradactyl Homunculus sporting the 100mm/3.5 mamiya-Press lens, a Doomo light meter, Cameradactyl Viewfinder and an RB67 roll film back.
Lots of problems with the new Cameradactyl Homunculus with Mamaya 50mm f/6.3 lens and Horseman 6x9 back. Absolutely NOTHING fit right. I had to modify /jimmy everything from the lens to the back, to the cold shoe mounts.
It's been a nightmare so far. I think I'll get a Mamaya Press.

In my normal photography I shoot color but when testing 4 x 5 cameras I prefer black and white because the colors can get in the way of what I’m looking for.
While I love my Schneider Xenar 135mm f/4.7 it doesn’t allow for extreme camera movements as the image circle is small (although stopped do...

My fist roll with the Mamiya Universal Press with 50mm f6.3 lens. I'm just happy that it worked at all after my disastrous experience with the Cameradactyl Homunculus. I need to remember to rewind after shooting and to dust my negatives when camera scanning. The negatives were a bit thin. I may use a film with a wider exposure lattitude next time. Shot on Washi S developed in Df96.
First test shots from the Cameradactyl Homunculus MP with the Mamiya-Press 50mm lens and Portra 400 in an RB67 back. This was shot with focus set at 1M and exposed for 1/30 at f/8. Scanned with an Epson V800.
The second and completely functional Cameradactyl camera built to take Mamiya-Press lenses and any 2x3 Graflok film back. Shown here with the 100mm f/3.5 and a turret style viewfinder from the former Soviet Union. Ethan Moses designed and printed this camera. I contributed a few design ideas and some testing. I am really excited about using it. A Mercury Works 6x9 Ground glass is mounted on the Graflok Back.
This version was adjusted for perspective distortion using digital post-processing, and thus heavily cropped. Shot with a prototype Cameradactyl Homunculus MP and 50mm Mamiya-Press lens with Portra 400 in an RB67 back. Shot hand held at 1/125 and f/11. Scanned with an Epson V800,

I have always built cameras, machines and models for fun. Never anything that I thought I could sell, just to use and enjoy myself and possibly to share with a friend or two.
A while back I bought a 3D printer to use as a CNC carriage. I wanted to mount a laser on it, so I could cut PCB’s...
