My fist roll with the Mamiya Universal Press with 50mm f6.3 lens. I'm just happy that it worked at all after my disastrous experience with the Cameradactyl Homunculus. I need to remember to rewind after shooting and to dust my negatives when camera scanning. The negatives were a bit thin. I may use a film with a wider exposure lattitude next time. Shot on Washi S developed in Df96.
Lots of problems with the new Cameradactyl Homunculus with Mamaya 50mm f/6.3 lens and Horseman 6x9 back. Absolutely NOTHING fit right. I had to modify /jimmy everything from the lens to the back, to the cold shoe mounts.
It's been a nightmare so far. I think I'll get a Mamaya Press.

For the last few months, I have been working tirelessly at destroying my anonymity for the purpose of selling cameras. The responses I’ve been getting are mixed – mostly trolls in the comments section when I release a new product, but also an encouraging bunch of sales.
It’s...

The Cameradactyl 2x3 hand camera we are developing to work with Mamiya-Press lenses and any 2x3 Graflok film holders.

The second and completely functional Cameradactyl camera built to take Mamiya-Press lenses and any 2x3 Graflok film back. Shown here with the 100mm f/3.5 and a turret style viewfinder from the former Soviet Union. A Graflex 6x9 roll film holder is mounted. Ethan Moses designed and printed this camera. I contributed a few design ideas and some testing. I am really excited about using it.
I'm experimenting with processing black and white printing paper as direct-positives. For more on the process, take a look at Cameradactyl's YouTube feed.
This is the first prototype that I am testing, to see which lenses and film-backs mount on this ingenious 3-D printed camera being developed by Ethan Moses of Cameradactyl. This version is shown with a Graflex 2x3 roll film back mounted, as well as the 150mm Mamiya-Press lens.
The Cameradactyl M-Press 2x3 hand camera shown with a converted Mamiya RB67 back that has been altered to make it good for shooting 135 film in panoramic mode.
These little doo-dads convert a cold shoe to a hot one, with a short lead to the X-terminal on the lens. They also clamp firmly to the slightly loose-fitting shoes in the plastic body. I used a second one to elevate my wide-angle accessory viewfinder, placing it on the left for more convenient right-eye access. This is a 3D printed Camera body, devised by Ethan Moses of Cameradactyl, that takes Mamiya-Press lenses and 2x3 Graflok film backs.

In my normal photography I shoot color but when testing 4 x 5 cameras I prefer black and white because the colors can get in the way of what I’m looking for.
While I love my Schneider Xenar 135mm f/4.7 it doesn’t allow for extreme camera movements as the image circle is small (although stopped do...
